MARYLAND TERRAPINS

TEAM NOTES

The Boilermakers rank sixth nationally in total wins in the last 15 seasons behind Connecticut, Tennessee, Duke, Louisiana Tech and Old Dominion.

PURDUE BOILERMAKERS

Coach Sharon Versyp has led Purdue to two NCAA Elite Eight appearances (2007, 2009) and two Big Ten Tournament championships (2007, 2008) in her four years at her alma mater.

Maryland earned its sixth straight 20-plus win season, helping to continue the longest streak in program history. The run also includes two 30-plus win seasons. Maryland extended the school’s home court winning streak to 48, a record that spans the books of both men’s and women’s basketball. The Terrapins boast the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation, bringing in top talent in Whitney Bays, Natasha Cloud, Alicia DeVaughn, Laurin Mincy and Alyssa Thomas. Junior Lynetta Kizer is on pace to hit 1,000 points after averaging 419 points the last two years. She currently has 838. Maryland continues to hold all top nine of the top 10 ACC game attendance records. In 2009-10 they led in home attendance numbers for the fourth straight year with another 100,000-plus number.
