Award Winners Sharon Chuculate, AASBO Truett Goatcher School Business Administrator of the Year Sharon Chuculate, Business Manager with Clarksville School District, was recently named the Arkansas Association of School Business Officials (AASBO) Truett Goatcher School Business Administrator of the Year. Ms. Chuculate was presented the award at the Clarksville School District Board of Directors Meeting on Monday, February 8, 2021. This award in given each year in honor of Mr. Truett Goatcher, long time school business official, Arkansas Department of Education staff member, Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators staff member, and mentor to many. Sharon currently serves as the AASBO Vice President and Southeastern Association of School Business Officials (SASBO) President-Elect. Mr. Steven Wyatt, Assistant Superintendent, stated, “Sharon is a knowledgeable and hardworking individual that is very passionate about her job. She is constantly seeking out professional growth opportunities in an effort to provide our school district with the most up to date information concerning the many financial decisions we face.”
Heather Williams, AAESP Assistant Principal of the Year Heather Williams, Assistant Principal of the Warren Dupree Elementary School in the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District, was recently named the Arkansas Association of Elementary School Principals (AAESP) Assistant Principal of the Year. Mr. Mike Mertens, AAEA Assistant Executive Director presented Ms. Williams with the award during a school assembly on March 19, 2021. This award is given each year to an Arkansas elementary assistant principal who has succeeded in contributing to a positive and motivating environment for others and has been recognized as exhibiting exceptional leadership skills in the school community. Ms. Williams played a key role in decreasing the total percentage of disciplinary offenses by 30% in one year by helping to lead staff in a clear focus on relationships, common and clear expectations, and systematic, equitable processes.
