Make your own WarHorse
Instructions (Allow 2 hours to make your horse) Create your own puppet horse and learn how to make it move and bring it to life. Designed by original Joey puppeteer Toby Olié. Inspired by War Horse’s astonishing life–sized horse puppets, created by the internationally renowned Handspring Puppet Company. You will need: – For introduction and reference look at pictures of the completed War Horse puppets (from warhorseonstage.co.uk) and images, both still and moving, of real horses – 1 template (3 pages) printed onto A3 paper per group – 3 sheets of A3 cardboard (thick enough to stand up straight but not so thick that it hurts your hands to cut) per group – At least 1 glue stick per group – A small plasticine ball per group – Some string cut into approximate lengths 4 x 20cm + 1 x 60cm per group – 1 pair of scissors per person – A sharp pencil per person – Some tape – Some A4 paper
