The celebration began in the context of a Mass, concelebrated by Bishop Sean O'Malley, OFM, Cap., and SS. Peter & Paul pastor Father Stephen A. Fernandes, commemorating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The Accreditation Statement reads in part: Saints Peter and Paul School in Fall River. Massachusetts. is accredited by the New England Association ofSchools and Colleges. Inc.. a non-governmental, nationa/~1' recognized organization whose affiliated institutions include elementary schools through collegiate institutions o.ftering post-graduate instruction. Accreditation 01' an institution by the New England Association indicates that it meets or exceeds criteriafor the assessment ofinstitutional quality periodically ap-

In his statement welcoming the bishop, Father Fernandes said, "While we rejoice in this recognition, the singular accreditation we all must seek is the one offered by the Father of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, who calls us to the eternal standards of truth and charity." In his homily, Bish'op O'Malley congratulated the staff and students of SS. Peter & Paul School. "I would like to offer a word of congratulations to all of you for the line work that this accreditation represents. We're very proud of SS.
