On October 4 St. Patrick's sparkled, outside and in, with beautifully manicured grounds accented with dozens of chrysanthemum plants and the church interior equally aglow~ with golden angels lending luster to the stained glass windows behind the sanctuary, where the former altar had been replaced by a massive cherrywood table and lectern, both highlighted by Celtic crosses. Inspiration for the crosses was drawn from a cross in the stained glass windQw behind the l1ew location ofSt. Patrick's tabernacle. The window, long concealed in a closed-offroom to one side ofthe altar, is now a focal point in the

O'Malley, OFM Cap., presided, was parishioner and Permanent Deacon Edward Hussey, who lit the altar candles while praying "May the light of Christ shine on this altar and be reflected in those. who share at this table." The new altar furnishings were designed by Edward Nunes, also a parishioner, working from the concepts of Father Tremblay. "As we enter the third millennium,", said the pastor, "may Patrick and all our ancestors in the faith, along with the Spirit of God, guide us and help us to learn the lessons they lived."
