Wright Funeral Friday in West Roxbury

Cardinal John Wright, the highest ranking American in the Vatican, who for 10 years cared for the spiritual and material needs of diocesan priests around the world, will be buried tomorrow in his family's plot in Holyrood Cemetery, Brookline. The cardinal died last Friday at age 70 at Youville Rehabilitation and Chronic) Disease Hospital in Cambridge. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 tomorrow morning at Holy Name Church in West Roxbury, where he will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. today. Cardinal Humberto Medeiros. will be chief concelebrant and lBishop Vincent M. Leonard of Pittsburgh will be homilist. Bishop Daniel A. Cronin issued the following statement on Cardinal Wright's death: I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of John Cardinal Wright. The world is sadder for his passing. While we mourn the loss of this outstanding Cardinal of the Church, we thank God for having given to us.
