THE BLOSSOM NURSERY

Nurturing budding minds, fostering an extraordinary future Early childhood education is a starting point for a child’s development and the key foundation of the educational system. The Blossom Nursery believes that effective, early education is the key to national development because it is the bedrock upon which all other educational levels build.

Zahra Hamirani, Esq, the founder-owner & CEO of The Blossom Nursery, has been with the nursery since it first commenced operations in 2009, in Dubai. Since then, the nursery has grown dramatically to serve communities across the Emirate. The mission of the nursery is to provide a secure and stimulating environment where each child will blossom.

“A motivated and engaged team is at the heart of any business success.”

According to Zahra, the nursery focuses on having well-rounded learners who prioritise kindness and compassion as central to the building up of curiosity and investigative skills. “We use our Skygarden curriculum to complement the British Early Years Foundation Stage framework, to teach to our students. We also take the Triple PPP approach, focusing equally on ‘people’, ‘planet’, and ‘prosperity’ at the nursery.” She says. THE BLOSSOM NURSERY believes that by providing a safe and stimulating environment for children to reach their full potential, the seeds will blossom into conscious, and responsible flowers. Elaborating on what the Skygarden curriculum is, Zahra says that “Our curriculum highlights sensory based emergent learning. We teach children via their senses, we lead with a variety of experiments that spark curiosity, and we build new neural pathways by carefully curating ideas.” Hamirani, who wears several professional hats including law professor and corporate attorney, also has professional exposure as an educationalist, which goes into crafting and shaping the nursery into what it is today. In July 2017, Blossom and the Babilou Middle East operations merged to create a group of 10 nurseries, to continue to provide quality education to children aged six weeks to 6 years old, across Dubai with different curriculums, and flexible offerings to suit every parent’s wishes. “I particularly believe that a motivated and engaged team is at the heart of any business success. Our team is taught essential skills in ensuring the major touch points of the Blossom way are well managed and consistent.” She adds, along with, “We at Blossom are a team-centric organisation, we publish a ‘Staff Handbook, and contracts that ensure full transparency of its policies, and procedures for the convenience of our staff.” The Blossom Nursery, a locally listed SME100 business, has stellar plans for its future. Growing at an annual rate of over 20% enables the business to expand its footprint in the region. Blossom intends to hire 50% more employees and have plans to open 50 nurseries by 2020, to strongly establish itself as the number one choice for families. “Blossom is a passion project that has developed into a mature business, and under the guidance of the global Babilou brand we will continue to nourish the seeds of passion and innovation,” concludes Hamirani. www.theblossomnursery.com www.babilou.ae
