Brian’s nine lives By Sharnahea Wilson

After suffering from eight heart attacks over the course of 32 years, local man Brian Halton decided it was time to write a book. The Victoria University Chemistry Professor wrote ‘A Cat of Nine Lives – and the Beat Goes On’ for anyone who might be suffering, or knows someone who is suffering, from heart disease. From having a heart attack in Holland when he was travelling by himself, to having a heart attack while on holiday in Nelson, Brian has experienced it all. Brian explained how the book is for ‘anybody that needs it’ and said he hopes it will help people get a feel for where they are at. “If it helps just one person, then the whole thing has been worthwhile,” Brian said.
