Mother charged over links to boy’s death

THE MOTHER of a five-year-old autistic boy who was allegedly murdered at his home has been charged in connection with the death. Emma Le Fleming Roberts, 37, is facing a charge of failing to get him medical treatment on the day Leon Jayet-Cole (right) died. His step-father James Stedman Roberts, 34, who is Roberts’ partner, has been charged with the murder. He has pleaded not guilty. Leon died in Emma Roberts Christchurch Hospital after suffering a serious head injury at his Lambeth Cres home, Northcote, on May 27.
