Posts on the Christchurch South Patrol and the Beckenham Neighbourhood Facebook pages last Monday warned residents of a “prowler” on Tennyson St. The prowler had jumped a fence last Sunday night and tried to enter an open window but the home owners woke from the noise

about 10.45pm when a man walked out from Longfellow St and started following her. He turned away when he heard her say on her phone that someone was following her. The patrol began visiting the area more after that incident, Mr Tabley said. He said other people had written on the Christchurch South Patrol Facebook page about being followed by people in cars while they walked down Tennyson St.
