¿Por qué los canadienses y los estadounidenses viajan a México para su atención médica?

Esto hace casi imposible que una persona ordinaria pague el precio del bolsillo, y las pólizas de seguro de salud limitan muchos procedimientos y los grandes deducibles y copagos pueden aplicarse. Las modernas tecnologías de comunicación con smartphones y computadoras, también han contribuido en gran medida al creciente número de pacientes itinerantes. Además de hacer que se sientan como en casa lejos de casa, pueden acceder a la información de Google. Ever since Mexico has upgraded and regularized their standards in health care along with specialized doctors and very modern hospitals, thousands of Canadians and Americans are coming to this country every year for Medical Tourism. They are specifically planning their trip and their stay to attend to medical and dental necessities.

You may wonder what is the driving force behind these travels. Well, economics could be one main reason, but there are many others factors to take into account. The Canadian health system has great hospital infrastructure and health personnel, but they are overwhelmed with the amount of patients that are in need of care, specially surgeries, therefore the waiting times for elective/non emergency procedures can take up to months or years. Also the appointment times between visits to family health providers, referral to specialists, ordering special studies and scheduling surgeries are very much prolonged, whereas in Mexico all can be done within days, just with previous notification of the patient arriving.

On the US side costs of delivering care are quite high due to overhead expenses, ridiculous high liability insurance malpractice premiums and mark ups in consumables.

This makes it almost impossible for an ordinary person to pay the price out of pocket, and health insurance policies limit many procedures and the large deductibles and co-payments may apply. Modern communication technologies with smartphones and computers have also greatly contributed to the growing numbers of traveling patients. Aside from making them feel at home away from home, they can access and google information. So citizens of these countries are looking for alternatives elsewhere and Puerto Vallarta has become a favorite welcoming place for Medical and Dental travelers. There are five major hospitals in the region with state of the art installations, over 350 medical specialists many with top certifications, and dozens of well qualified dentists, besides a Medical and Nursing School that were founded in 2007 by the University of Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta CUC Campus. El Doctor Miramontes nació el 30 de Mayo de 1960, en Guadalajara, Jalisco. Es médico egresado de la Universidad de Guadalajara, hizo su especialidad como Cirujano Oftalmólogo en el Hospital Civil de Guadalajara. Es miembro de la Sociedad Mexicana de Oftalmología y está certificado por la Asociación Panamericana de Oftalmología, también está certificado por la Sociedad de Oftalmología de Guadalajara para cirugía refractiva. Recientemente, en el día internacional de la visión, el Doctor realizó más de 25 operaciones en una jornada intensiva de cirugías de cataratas, con una nueva tecnología llamada Facoemulsificación, por lo que la cirugía es muy rápida y segura.

Doctor Miramontes was born on May 30th 1960, in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

Graduated from the University of Guadalajara, he completed his residency as Ophthalmologist Surgeon at the Hospital Civil de Guadalajara. He is a member of the Mexican society of Ophthalmology and is certified by the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology, he is also certified by the Society of Ophthalmology of Guadalajara on refractive surgery. Recently, on the international day of the vision, the Doctor carried out more than 25 operations in an intensive day of cataract surgeries, with a new technology called phacoemulsification, so surgery is very fast and secure.

Se siente muy satisfecho al respecto, ya que con esas cirugías los pacientes mejorarán su visión y calidad de vida. Su mensaje para todos los Vallartenses es que prevengan y se chequen constantemente y así prevenir muchos de los problemas del ojo, como el glaucoma, del cual podemos mencionar dos tipos: Un tipo de glaucoma que la mayoría de las veces se hereda o se combina con dolor de cabeza, o reflejos de colores, porque el nervio óptico se presiona y el otro tipo de glaucoma que no presenta síntomas, y hace que de manera abrupta se vea borroso. Estos tipo de padecimientos se controlan, ya sea con medicación o con cirugía.

Dr. Javier Ortiz Pediatra Aspectos nutricionales de la actividad deportiva en Los Niños Los principios nutricionales en el deporte parten de que las necesidades deben cubrirse aumentando en su justo grado las cantidades de una dieta equilibrada y que estas necesidades han de ser individualizadas, dado que van a depender del grado e intensidad de la actividad deportiva, del género, del tamaño y composición corporal y del estado de madurez puberal. En general, la dieta del niño que realiza deporte debe proveer de energía y nutrientes en cantidad suficiente para reponer y mantener las reservas de glucógeno hepático y muscular, garantizar el crecimiento, mantener una adecuada composición corporal y cubrir los requerimientos de macro y micronutrientes esenciales.

Dadas las diferentes tasas metabólicas entre el tejido graso y el muscular, el peso no es el mejor orientador sobre las necesidades nutricionales y es mejor disponer de información sobre la composición corporal. Con respecto a la distribución de macronutrientes, parece aconsejable mantener proporciones no muy alejadas de las de la población pediátrica y adolescente en general: al menos un 50% de calorías procedentes de los hidratos de carbono, un 12-15% procedentes de las proteínas y un 30-35% procedentes de los lípidos.

Clinicas Audiológicas OIR BIEN Las alteraciones de la audición han ido en aumento desde hace un par de años. La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) calcula que en el mundo existen alrededor de 360 millones de personas con alguna alteración de la audición y se calcula que menos del 10% ha sido valorada y ha recibido algún tratamiento.

Las causas de pérdida auditiva son varias, siendo las más frecuentes: · Alteraciones perinatales (al momento de nacer): prematurez, bajo peso al nacer, hiperbilirrubinemia (ponerse amarillo) y estancia en terapia intensiva neonatal prolongada entre otros. · Exposición a ambientes ruidosos tanto por entretenimiento (uso inadecuado de audífonos) o por cuestiones laborales (no usar los protectores contra ruido) · Enfermedades crónicas sin un tratamiento adecuado (diabetes, presión alta, colesterol y triglicéridos son las más frecuentes). · Uso de medicamentos que dañen el oído: quimioterapias, algunos antibióticos, algunos desinflamatorios, etc.

El cuidado de la audición debería de ser regular. Así como cuidamos de nuestros ojos, nuestros dientes o el chequeo general de salud que anualmente (como mínimo) también debería de realizarse un chequeo de la audición. Es por eso que la valoración auditiva realizada por personal capacitado es indispensable. Los audiólogos son los profesionales de la salud indicados para la atención de las alteraciones auditivas. En México existe la especialidad médica (al igual que el ginecólogo, el pediatra o el ortopedista) para la atención de las alteraciones de la audición, la voz, el lenguaje y el equilibrio, quienes realizan una especialización con una duración de 3 a 5 años. Así mismo existe gente capacitada para la atención clínica de la sordera, conocidos como audioprotesistas, que deben de contar con el respaldo de un especialista para dar la atención adecuada de los pacientes (por ejemplo el oftalmólogo y el optometrista). La atención de las personas con problemas auditivos debe de considerarse como un proceso de rehabilitación en el que intervienen diversos factores a considerar y que, gracias a las tecnologías actuales, puede llevarse de manera exitosa.

The love story that marked their lives began at the university almost 7 years ago, and in May 2017 Oscar gave the engagement ring to Nuria and joined their lives in 2018, with a symbolic ceremony given by Sophia Jimenez the groom´s sister , on the beach of Punta Monterrey, in Riviera Nayarit.

The theme of the wedding was tropical, casual, all barefoot on the beach, enjoying a fantastic 3- course menu of fresh food, seafood and off course, the Tequila Noble Corazón on each table. A wonderful sunset framed the beginning of their dance, which was a very original piece of the group Café Tacuba “El baile y el salón”. The entertaining party lasted all night and up to sunrise, with an energy very similar to this cute couple. Congratulations!

Con una actitud emprendedora, ha participado en diferentes cursos y talleres en todo México, con estilistas reconocidos nacional e internacionalmente. Este 2018 recibió el Premio Nacional de Excelencia en Estilismo, por la Asociación Nacional de Estilistas bajo la dirección de la maestra Cristina Goiz, además de un reconocimiento por sus 20 años de trayectoria. Recién ha sido nominada en Master Embajadores de la Belleza México, el máximo título nacional llamado Noche de Galardones en su tercera edición, que dirige Patricia Estrada.

Día del Charro Day of the Charro Con gran alegría y entusiasmo se llevó a cabo el tradicional desfile conmemorativo al Día Nacional del Charro, elegantes charros y bellas escaramuzas brindaron un magnífico espectáculo compuesto por más de 200 charros de las diferentes asociaciones del municipio , destacó la participación de la Asociación de Charros de Vallarta, los charros y escaramuzas del Rancho El Relicario de Ixtapa, la escaramuza Flor de Azalea, la Asociación de Charros Hacienda Serena, los Charros de El Herradero, Los Camperos y la escaramuza Rosa Mexicano entre otros.

VI Carrera del Día del Médico en PV VI race of the day of the Doctor in PV Totalmente consolidada la Gran carrera del médico en su sexta edición como el evento favorito de corredores en Vallarta, cerca de 1,000 participantes amateurs y profesionales, entre locales y visitantes provenientes de diversos Estados de la república se dieron cita para competir en un gran ambiente deportivo y de camarería, la salida y meta fue en Marina Vallarta y corrieron en tres modalidades: 3 , 5 y 10 kilómetros. Los médicos corrieron en una categoría especial y fueron los más ovacionados. Excelente convocatoria la del doctor Francisco Javier Ortiz organizador de este evento, gracias a la magnífica organización, la bosa de premios y sobre todo el ambiente familiar y festivo que se vive cada año.
