I started my first fashion business when I was 19 years old, turning a tiny studio into a 9000 sq foot factory with 50 employees within 5 years. I’ve spent years in New York City working with talented designers on how to market their skills, build their sourcing and manufacturing networks and launch their fashion lines. At The Cut Fashion Design Academy, we are dedicated to provide the skills and experience that will help students find their place in the world of fashion.

I traveled from Cape Town, South Africa, to take the Patternmaking - Technical Apparel Intensive summer course and the Launch your Line course. The whole experience has been incredible. I received such a warm welcome and I was able to learn so much about technical clothing. Much more than I expected. Now I am putting it to use making the prototypes for stunt clothing wear. The Launch your line course has pointed me in the right direct. I would recommend this to anyone wish to start their own line. It will save a lot of mistakes . I feel I know the path forward now with much more clarity. The staff are so knowledgeable, patient and helpful. The continuous encouragement from the staff and Liza meant so much. Being far from home, it made a real impression on me. I will never forget my trip and I love Vancouver. Thank you to you all.

I took the beginner and intermediate Gerber classes at the Cutting Room. Both courses were amazing, and significantly helpful! The small class sizes allowed me to get the attention I needed to really grasp the software. This lifted the company I work for out of a primitive & manual way of pattern making, and really took our production to another level. Working closely under industry experts really helped me to understand very quickly, whereas I don’t think my progress would have been equaled in any traditional school setting. The Cutting Room team and teachers were knowledgeable, and accommodating.
