EMMANUEL FILLION

Born in 1966 in Soissons, France, Emmanuel Fillion began carving at fifteen, contributing to the restoration of iconic French monuments. Coproducing the 2002 documentary "Through the Eyes of the Sculptor," his globally exhibited work draws inspiration from Japanese culture, emphasizing fluidity, power, introspection, and spirituality.

Based in Barcelona and originally from Colombia, Rodriguez is captivated by Earth's dynamic vitality, envisioning it as a constantly evolving living mantle. He conveys the planet's raw energy through paintings in the Portal collection, using natural elements like unre ned linen canvas, black lava paint, gold and copper leaf to infuse a re ective luminosity. Complementing these are sculptures titled Mantles, resembling undulating ripples of metal, and unique features like a suspended LED light crack resembling lightning. Triennial - Istanbul
