Ashley Feschuk developed ‘Island Cheer’ in 2017, a project devoted to helping seniors find comfort during the holiday season. It’s a time that can be lonely for some and this project helps deliver a bit of Christmas Cheer. Ashley works in partnership with Coach Jeff Ford and his hockey players from Pownal Novice AA Team 1 and students from Holland College. The young hockey players, aged 7-9, are looking forward to writing and delivering special Christmas cards to residents of Andrews of Stratford. It’s an opportunity to learn the importance of community and giving back. Karen Ford-Doyle of Holland College is also working with Ashley to encourage students to create heartfelt cards to pass along to seniors and help make their Christmas season a special one.
