Thank You Veterans

Ways to say thank you to a Veteran: 1. Show up – attend a Veteran’s Day Event. 2. Donate to a Veteran’s Organization. 3. Fly the U.S. Flag Correctly; • Never drag a U.S. flag on the ground or let it touch the ground. • Don’t drape it over the hood, top, sides or back of a vehicle. • Don’t display the U.S. flag above any other flag, and keep it at the center when it’s surrounded by other flags. • Don’t display a tattered or torn flag. Flags that are tattered and torn should be disposed of in a respectful way, preferably by burning. • Never use the flag as apparel, bedding or drapery. 4. Ask someone about their service. 5. Write a letter, postcard, or email to a Veteran you know and thank and appreciate them. 6. Visit with a shut-in Veteran. 7. Serve or have a meal with a Veteran. 8. Take a Veteran outdoors. Explore a National Park – Admission is free for all on Veteran’s Day.
