MANAGER’S CORNER
“I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I’m not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.” Robert McCloskey
Let’s Talk About Communication!
In past newsletters, we’ve stressed the importance of communication here at Bow Lake, especially when it comes to concerns that affect the safety, appearance, and enjoyment of our community. While we may not be able to respond to every concern immediately, we always do our best to handle things in a timely manner. That said, we’re not perfect. When our “to do” list gets long, things can sometimes slip through the cracks, especially if they’re only mentioned to us verbally or in passing.
The best way to make sure your concern gets to the right person and is addressed promptly is to put it in writing, either by sending us an email or leaving us a note. This way it won’t get lost in the shuffle, and we’ll have a record to follow up on.
Equally important is how we communicate with each other. Rumors and negative comments can spread quickly, but they don’t usually help solve problems. In fact, they often make things feel bigger than they really are. If you have a question or hear something that doesn’t sound quite right, please come to us directly. We’ll be glad to share the facts and work with you on solutions. We want to communicate effectively and accurately, but we need everyone’s help for that to happen.
Finally, a quick reminder: if you’ve recently changed your phone number or email address, please update it with us. Having your most up-to-date contact information allows us to reach you quickly with important updates and helps us stay better connected as a community.
Thank you for helping us keep communication strong here at Bow Lake. When we all do our part, it makes our community an even better place to call home.
With Gratitude, Sean and Denise

COMMUNITY NOTES AND REMINDERS
• FREE ITEMS REMINDER
If you have items you’d like to give away, please place them in the laundry room or donate them to a local resale organization such as Habitat for Humanity or Value Village. We kindly ask that you do not leave items on your lawn or in your carport for others to pick up. The only exception to this is immediately following the annual yard sale, when items may be temporarily set out until they are removed. Thank you for helping us keep our community safe and looking its best!
• CLUBHOUSE PARKING
When parking in the spaces around the Clubhouse, please be mindful not to pull your vehicle so close to the curb that it blocks the sidewalk. Clear access is essential for residents who use wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters, and keeping the sidewalk unobstructed ensures safe and easy passage for everyone. Thank you for helping us keep our community accessible to all.
• YARD WASTE
Please do not place plastic bags or pet waste bags in your compostable yard waste bins. These items contaminate the compost. You may include soiled cardboard (like pizza boxes), used paper towels, and compostable food waste with your yard waste. Doing so may also help free up space in your regular trash can.
• A FRIENDLY REMINDER
Please be a considerate neighbor by cleaning up after your dog and disposing of waste properly. Dog waste bags and cigarette butts should never be left in another resident’s yard or placed in their trash cans. Let’s all do our part to keep our community clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
• AMERICAN FLAG AT THE OFFICE
The American flag that is flying in front of the office was donated by Debbie Johnson in honor of her husband Jerome Johnson, who served in Vietnam in the Army and was a resident of Bow Lake for over 20 years.

All residents of Bow Lake Estates are invited and welcome to attend the monthly meetings. Please join us and share your thoughts and learn from your neighbors. This month’s meeting will be on Thursday, October 9th at 4:00PM in the Clubhouse, where we will once again host our Annual Coffee with a Cop conversation.
Last month a Block Party was hosted on Bow Lake Drive, where the City of SeaTac Fire Department and City Councill were invited. We had a surprise visit by Mayor Egal and Council Member Negusse. It was great to enjoy a meal with these two and learn more about what City Council is working on and for them to hear directly from our Community about our Priorities.
As always, if you see something, say something. Only We Can Make Our Community Safe for Ourselves and Our Neighbors.
BOW LAKE ESTATES ASSOCIATION OF MANUFACTURED HOMEOWNERS (BLEAMH)/HOA
We cannot do this alone; we need everyone’s voice, therefore, let’s gather with our nieghbors to discuss and work together to continue making Bow Lake the best community it can be. Please join us at our next meeting, on Monday, October 6th at 6:00PM in the Clubhouse. This is our monthly Meeting and Potluck (if able, please bring a dish/side/dessert to share).
Last month, Bow Lake hosted the Annual Association of Manufactured Home Owners (AMHO) Meeting, where we had over 70 visitors from Mobile/Manufactured Parks from around the State, giving us an opportunity to show off our Community. We also had presentations from the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance, WA Department of Commerce, Housing Division and others.
DISASTER PREPAREDNESS

Thank you to those who have already Volunteered for this important responsibility; however, we still need more volunteers. We are working to bring various trainings and information to the Community. Attend the monthly BLEAMH/HOA Meetings with any questions or to sign up.

Our community library offers more than just books. Come explore our wide selection of jigsaw puzzles, CDs, DVDs, and games available for all residents to enjoy.
When visiting, please be mindful of the jigsaw puzzles in progress. These take hours to complete, and we ask that you do not disturb any partially assembled puzzles out of respect for the time and effort others have put in.
Expanded Digital Library
Thanks to generous donations, our digital library has been updated! DVDs are now organized into categories such as “Kid Zone,” “Sports,” “Westerns,” “Comedy,” and “Crime/Police,” making it easier to find your favorites. We also have a few Blu-Rays (check the cover, as most include a standard DVD) and a selection of CDs and audiobooks. Audiobooks are especially helpful for those with reading or vision difficulties, and donations are always welcome.
Borrowing Guidelines:
• Limit of two DVDs and/or two CDs at a time.
• DVDs should be returned within one week if possible; sets and CDs may be kept up to one month.
• Audiobooks: one at a time, returned within a reasonable timeframe.
• Please do not reshelve items yourself—place returns or donations on top of the shelf units or near the book return area.
