The Asia-Pacific region will increasingly have to depend on creating new internal sources of economic growth to drive its development. The region is also emerging as a central participant in international economic relations. To fulfill this potential, it will need to implement an ambitious set of policies. In the aftermath of the global economic crisis, inclusive and sustainable growth is not only desirable but also a necessary condition for regaining the region’s dynamism. Survey 2010 outlines a five-pronged policy agenda at national and regional levels to address economic, social and ecological imbalances in an integrated manner, while boosting regional connectivity.
