The Graduate School, founded in 1965, awards masters, specialist and doctoral degrees in more than forty-five programs. We have a vibrant and diverse graduate community that includes over 1700 students enrolled across the nine colleges and schools that comprise Augusta University. Our Graduate School faculty members hold primary appointments in the Colleges of Allied Health Sciences, Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, Business, Dentistry, Education, Medicine, Nursing, Science & Mathematics, and the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences. Dr. Choi has emerged as a concrete example of the Ph.D. students our Biostatistics and Data Science division produces. Dr. Choi developed a new Multivariate Bernoulli Distribution to study the main effect of SNPs and the second-order and higher-order SNP-SNP interactions for identifying the susceptibility of certain complex diseases. The significant contribution of her dissertation work is that the proposed model can relax computational costs and statistical challenges by reducing the number of parameters."
