Mikaela Malson arranges books on the ‘Staff Picks’ shelf at the Tavistock Public Library. Mikaela, 16, is the first page hired at the library, responsible for assisting the Librarian in daily chores. She works 10 hours per week, four hours on Tuesdays, four hours on Thursdays, and two hours on Saturdays. Along with changing displays, creating posters and advertising, and updating the Library website, Mikaela also helps with the kids programming; Wii™ nights (Tuesdays 4-7 pm) and movie nights held the last Thursday and Saturday of the month. Mikaela is the daughter of Rick and Sherrill Malson of Tavistock. She is a grade 11 student at Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School and also enjoys playing hockey with the Tavistock Junior Jets. She will be participating in a student exchange to France from February 7 to May 5.

January meeting of Huntingford A.C.W. by Donna Pullen Cosy flannel quilts were tied at the January meeting of the Huntingford Anglican Church Women (ACW). They will be donated to local charities who are helping people in need of bedding. Under the direction of Co-President Donna Wilson, our meeting began with Hymn #400 – “Good Christian Men Rejoice.” Anya Donaldson gave the scripture readings and the devotion entitled, “Upset Plans.”
The secretary and treasurer’s reports were given and accepted. Thank yous were received from our rector and his family thanking us for the quilted Christmas wall hanging we had given them at Christmas. Donna Wilson thanked us for the lunch following the funeral for John Wilson. Betty Yeoman thanked us for the plant given to Marg Murray at Christmas. Mary Walton of the social com-

Wilfred Allen McGregor, 87 of Tavistock passed away at his residence on Saturday, January 22nd, 2011. He was born in East Zorra Township on October 21, 1923 a son of the late Benjamin and Clara (Grenzebach) McGregor. He had farmed at Lot 28, Concession 12 of East Zorra Township until retiring to Tavistock in March 1996. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, SebastopolTavistock. Wilfred is survived by his wife, the former Leona Pauline Berg, whom he married at Sebastopol on July 5, 1947; his daughter-inlaw, Donna McGregor of R.R. #1 Woodstock; two granddaughters, Bridget McGregor and husband Yong Sang Lee of Seoul, South Korea; Ainsley McGregor of Kingston; one sister, Myrtle Yecny of Tavistock; sisters-in-law, Helen McGregor, Florence Berg, Marjorie Montgomery and Marlene Berg, all of Tavistock; brothers-inlaw, Wesley Noack of Stratford, Len Molyneaux of Woodstock. He was predeceased by his son Glenn McGregor (April 8, 2007); his daughter, Shirley McGregor (in infancy in 1948); brothers, Gordon McGregor and wife Gladys and Howard McGregor; sisters, Violet Wiffen and husband Ralph, Pearl Noack, Lenore Wilhelm and husband George; brother-inlaw Rudy Yecny; “Berg” brothers-inlaw and sisters-in-law, Frieda and Alvin Dotzert, Oscar Berg, Lorna and Alfred Schmidt, Louise and Charles Miles, John Berg, Bill Montgomery, Ray Berg and Audrey Molyneaux. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woostock Street North, Tavistock on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebastopol-Tavistock on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Richard P. Brown will officiate. Interment in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Eugene Brandon Roth, 47, of Stratford passed away at his residence on Monday, January 17, 2011. He was born in Stratford on October 6, 1963, a son of the late Mahlon G. and Erma (Baechler) Roth. Eugene is survived by two sons, Corey Roth and Brandon Roth, both of Stratford; two sisters, Irene Ruby, Beulah and husband Calvin Schwartzentruber, all of Tavistock; two brothers, Sherman and wife Jenny Roth of Zurich, Murray and wife Barb Roth of Tavistock; his sister-in-law, Paulette Roth of Tavistock; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Cephas Roth (November 11, 2010); his sister-in-law, Darlene Roth; his brother-inlaw, Douglas Ruby and several aunts and uncles. A family graveside service was held at the East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th Line on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St. N., Tavistock by calling 519-655-2431.
