Tavistock Gazette
The Tavistock Gazette is a weekly newspaper founded in Tavistock, Ontario, Canada in 1895. It is a German/Scottish ancestral community established in 1848. Since municipal amalgamation in 1975, Tavistock has been part of East Zorra-Tavistock Township with municipal government administered from Hickson, Ontario. Tavistock is the home of the World Crokinole Championship (est. 1999) held the first Saturday in June. The town contains a grocery store, pharmacy, medical clinic, dental clinic, funeral home, arena, 2 parks, cheese factory, 2 hardware stores, restaurants, churches, and 3 nursing and retirement homes.
