Step Into Success: Support Operation Back to School and Help Local Students Shine
Regina M. O’Brien, MPH, CHES
Every child deserves to walk into their first day of school with confidence—from head to toe. That’s exactly what Operation Liberty Hill (OLH) has been working toward for the past five years through our Operation Back to School program. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we’re inviting our community to join us in supporting the growing number of local students in need—because no child should ever feel left behind before the school year even begins.
Why It Matters
In 2024 alone, OLH was able to serve 438 students in Liberty Hill, Bertram, and Briggs with brand-new athletic shoes, socks, backpacks, and school supplies. That’s 438 kids who were able
to walk into their classrooms feeling equipped, supported, and ready to learn. But with that growth comes greater responsibility—this is now our most expensive program, and the need continues to increase each year.
Athletic shoes are required for PE. If a student fails to meet the school’s requirements, that student may receive a failing grade. School supply lists can be exhaustive—with the rising cost of living, families are stretched thin, and the basics are increasingly out of reach for many.
“It’s more than just a backpack. It’s self-esteem. It’s belonging. It’s hope.”
Teachers and parents tell us that students who feel prepared are more confident, more likely to engage in learning, and feel less anxious.

How You Can Help
We’re launching a communitywide donation drive from Friday, June 20 to Monday, July 21, and it’s never been easier to get involved! All we ask is that you drop off new athletic shoes (child, youth and adult sizes) and new school supplies—think composition notebooks, 3-prong plastic folders, rulers, glue sticks, pens, colored pencils, scissors, crayons, etc. - in any of our bright blue donation barrels located around Liberty Hill with one of our wonderful local partners, donation sites are listed at www.operationlh.org.
If you’d like to see the more comprehensive school supplies lists, please go to https://www. libertyhill.txed.net/22009_2.

• Families can shop together and fill a backpack.
• Host a mini-drive at your workplace or place of worship
• Sponsor a barrel and encourage your network to give

“You don’t need to be a nonprofit to make a difference. You just need to care.”
Visit operationlh.org/programsand-services/operation-backto-school to learn about volunteer opportunities, financial contributions, and more ways to support this powerful initiative. Let’s make 2025 our strongest year yet. Together, we can change the start of the school year for hundreds of students—and maybe change the course of their future.
American Flag Fruit Pizza
This American flag fruit pizza is an easy, delicious recipe for the 4th of July!
Makes 16 servings
Ingredients
1 tube Refrigerated Sugar Cookie
Dough 16.5 oz
8 oz Cream Cheese softened 2/3 cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
8 oz Whipped Topping thawed
12 oz Fresh Raspberries 3 to 4 cups
1 dry pint Fresh Blueberries about 2 cups
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Open tube of cookie dough and slice into 1/4 inch pieces.
Place cookie dough slices on a lightly greased 12 inch pizza pan and press into an even layer. (If desired, reserve one slice of dough and bake it separately, using a cookie cutter to cut a star).
Bake cookie crust 11-12 minutes until lightly browned. Cool. Meanwhile, wash and dry the berries.
Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla together until smooth. Beat in half the whipped topping. Fold in the remaining whipped topping.
Scoop a little less than half of the cream cheese mixture onto the cookie crust and spread it all the way to the edges of the crust.
Use blueberries to outline the pizza and create the blue portion of the flag, and top with the star cookie.
Use raspberries to create seven red stripes.
Use the rest of the cream cheese mixture to pipe the white stripes. Keep in fridge until ready to serve.

The Heart Behind Schultze Agency - Insurance Solutions
When Jeff Schultze walked away from two decades in corporate America, he wasn’t just chasing a new business venture. He was chasing a purpose. In January 2023, Jeff and his wife, Jaime, founded the Schultze Agency, LLC with a shared vision: to build something of their own, rooted in values, service, and a true connection with the community they love.
From day one, their agency has been more than just a place to shop for insurance. It’s a welcoming hub where education, transparency, and heartfelt service are the norm. “We want people to walk through our doors and feel like they’re already part of the Schultze Agency family,” says Jeff. “We take time to consult, to explain, and to make sure every client feels informed and empowered.”
The agency operates with clearly defined core values that go beyond business speak. They live them daily. From “Customer Obsession” to “Delivering Quality & Timely Results,” each team member is aligned with a
mission to add value through expert consultation, not pressure.
Their services span everything from personal insurance like home, auto, and life to commercial coverage, Medicare solutions, and more. With a team of specialists including Jeff, Jaime, Nicolle Borton-Cobuccio, Brenner Brown, and Elizabeth Hamilton, the agency brings deep knowledge and genuine care to every interaction.
However, where the Schultze Agency truly stands out is in its deepseated connection to the Liberty Hill and Williamson County communities.
Whether it’s sponsoring local athletics, setting up booths at fall festivals, or providing meals to teachers during stressful school seasons, Jeff and Jaime have made giving back a core part of their agency’s identity. Their office doesn’t just serve clients. It hosts networking events, Medicare education seminars, and even their own quarterly Business After Hours series.
One of the most touching examples
of their community commitment is the annual “Snug-As-A-Bug NICU Drive.” Held each December, this initiative gathers comfort items for babies in local NICUs. For Jeff and Jaime, it’s personal. The drive is dedicated in memory of their daughters, Ally and Maddy. It gives them the chance to support the hospitals that played such a profound role in their lives. “Delivering these gifts is such a heartwarming experience,” Jeff shares. “It’s a way to honor our girls and thank the incredible nurses and staff who cared for them.”
Their work with the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation further highlights their passion for uplifting others. Jeff now serves as Event Coordinator for the first annual Lake LBJ event, bringing children with special needs the joy of a guided fishing experience. “These kids hold a special place in our hearts,” Jeff says. “It’s about creating memories, building confidence, and showing
them they matter.”
The Schultze family’s roots in the community run deep. Jaime and Jeff were among the very first families to move into Santa Rita Ranch. Now, they continue to raise their son Will here, spending weekends cheering him on at football and baseball games, exploring the outdoors, or enjoying their shared love for DIY projects, fishing, and traveling.
When asked what they wish more people knew about working with their agency, Jeff answers. “We treat every recommendation like it’s for our own family. If staying with your current policy is best, we’ll tell you. We’re here to serve, not sell.”
The Schultze Agency is a rare kind of business. One where doing right by others is not just a philosophy, but a way of life. They’re not just protecting homes, vehicles, and businesses. They’re protecting what matters most: people, purpose, and community.
