Specifications and Availability of Blind Pipe Flange A blind flange is one of the solid flanges. Its main purpose is to block off a section of pipe or a nozzle on a vessel that is never used. Most of the time, there are chances for the nozzle to blank off with a blind flange for pressure tests in the plant, or simply because the customer does not require all the nozzles supplied on the tank.
USE OF BLIND FLANGES Blind flanges are implemented in the gas/liquid testing. One of the most profound benefits of blind pipe flanges is that they allow easy pipe access during line maintenance. We are proud to provide blind flanges through their specified range (1/2″ to 96″) and in all material grades and sizes.
Blind pipe flanges are useful to blank off the pipe ends, pressure vessel valves, and openings. They can we safely used in high-stress settings due to most of the stress being diverted to center bending. Blind pipe flanges are usually found in the flat face, raised face provisions, or RTJ facing, with a standard height of 1/16” for raised face flanges under 400# and 1/4″ for 400# and over.
