We are well into another wonderful summer at Teton Pines! Feedback from members is very complimentary of our facilities and offerings. Other than a few “complaints” about the fescue around the bunkers on the golf course, our upgrades on the course, at the pool and with Racquet Sports have been a hit. Restaurant usage has skyrocketed with creative new menu items of the highest quality, along with our renowned front of the House service. Our program offerings have multiplied and offer activities that will help make you fit or allow you to just relax and mellow out!

Even with all of this, we believe the best is yet to come. The Clubhouse Expansion and Upgrade Committee has been working diligently to finalize plans that will include a new Fitness Facility, expanded kitchen facilities to serve expanded dining capacity and new bathrooms and changing facilities at the pool. While nothing is “in stone” yet, we hope to break ground at the pool in March 2024 with a new multipurpose building providing bathrooms and changing rooms, a check-in facility as well as a snack shop. This will be followed in March 2025 with a major expansion of the Clubhouse adding about 8,000 square feet of new space, which includes a new standalone fitness center.

Our Staff has done a wonderful job this summer in all areas of Club activity. Please take a moment and thank them for helping make Teton Pines the great Club it is!

We welcome your feedback on Club offerings and service. Let us know what we can do better or differently to enhance your member experience.

Thanks for your continued support of our Club,

— A MESSAGE FROM THE GM —

Dear Members,

Summer may have taken its time to get to Jackson Hole but it is here now and things are definitely in “full swing” at Teton Pines.

I am exceptionally proud of the team’s commitment in ensuring that Teton Pines is a genuine “lifestyle” choice for all of you, our members, by offering plenty of events and activities to create magic moments and fond memories.

In addition to an already active calendar with couples golf, men’s and ladies’ day, racquet clinics and socials, weekly cocktail parties, and our weekly lobster nights, we have introduced numerous new activities including periodic trivia nights, menu features each night of the week and a variety of field trips and summer pool parties. It is our mission to make Teton Pines an encompassing and highly social atmosphere where members prefer to spend their time.

Fortunately, the wait list for membership is growing as we find that more and more individuals interested in membership are already living in the valley. Membership referrals from existing members have increased significantly, which is great, although membership attrition has decreased. Thus, if you do have friends or associates that are interested in membership, the sooner that you refer them, the sooner that they can get in.

There has also been a lot going on with our Clubhouse Upgrade and Expansion project. We are currently hoping to secure the necessary permits to construct the swimming pool change rooms and snack bar as early as next spring with the upgrade and expansion of the Clubhouse the following year. The Club’s priorities remain to address the tunnel and update the façade, add swimming pool changing rooms, add a complete fitness center, improve the pro shop and expand the kitchen and Clubhouse dining. Be reminded that we have established a dedicated email account, masterplan@tetonpines.com for comments and suggestions and we will be providing periodic updates on our Club’s website under the “Clubhouse Expansion Project” found under “My Club”.

As mentioned in the previous issue of Whispers, to further strengthen the foundation of the Club, the Senior Management team attended a daylong session to discuss what it means to be Teton Pines and our objectives as a Club. After closely studying and interpreting the Club’s Mission and Vision, we identified the core values we felt are necessary to live the Club’s Mission and make steady strides to further achieve our Vision. Those core values were identified as Respect, Family, Sustainability, Consistency, and Care & Passion. We look forward to making decisions consistent with our core values and making Teton Pines, the community you choose to be a part of.

And with the golf course renovation fully completed, we successfully completed an annual inspection to ensure that the native waterways have been left in their natural condition. In line with our core value of sustainability, this is very important for the Club as well as the community. This is also aligned with Teton Pines’ commitment to being one of a select group of golf courses across the United States that is Audubon certified. Audubon certification is an international program that helps protect our environment through environmental planning, wildlife & habitat management, chemical use reduction & safety, water conservation, and water quality management.

It is our passion to bring members together and build a culture focused on the community by providing engaging activities and outstanding experiences delivered by our exceptional team of employees. We want your thoughts of Teton Pines to be full of memorable moments, such that, there is no other place you would rather be than with your family and friends at Teton Pines.

See you at the Club,

— A MESSAGE FROM MEMBERSHIP —

It was a long, wet spring, but that didn’t stop members from enjoying their Club and referring friends and family for membership! We are pleased to report that as of July 1st we have a waitlist of prospective member candidates that will likely bring us to late winter/early spring. On that note, now is the perfect time to introduce your friends to the Club. Invite them to dinner, a round of golf, a day at the pool or match out on the racquet courts to show them how much fun there is to be had at Teton Pines!

Additionally, please remember to send feedback on our membership candidates when they are announced as they reach the third position on the waitlist. Feedback is gathered for a minimum of two weeks prior to being presented with the prospective member’s bio and sponsor form to the Membership Committee. Remember, you can view all membership candidates on the candidates tab of the website. Thus, if you know that a friend has applied, you do not need to wait until they are announced to provide your feedback. Your endorsements, comments, and even criticisms are incredibly helpful to the Membership Committee when making a recommendation for approval to the Executive Committee.

Once a membership becomes available and we are able to welcome the new members, we do announce their status via email and you are able to review new members on the New Members tab of the website. Be sure to provide a warm welcome!

Speaking of welcomes, during the (new in 2023) mandatory new member orientation meeting, I provide a thorough tutorial of the Club website, reviewing items such as making reservations, cancellation policies, and finding departmental information. Additionally, we review relevant Rules & Regulations and discuss Club culture and history. If you are a newer member, or even a long term member that just wants a little refresher, just contact me and I’d be thrilled to go over the website/app or any other questions you may have.

I look forward to seeing you at the Club!

ON THE COURSE

A Mid-Summer Message from the Director of Golf, Matt Stireman, PGA

After a very nice start, we now move into the second half of the 2023 golf season. August and September at Teton Pines usually brings great weather, great course conditions and some of the Pines largest and most traditional golf events of the year. The below events are just a few of the golf competitions and benefits scheduled for August; I encourage you to experience the fun of these traditional golfing events at Teton Pines this summer.

The Men’s Round-Up Member/Guest is the highlight of the golf season. This event is always played on the first weekend in August and this year those dates are August, 3rd, 4th, & 5th. The Men’s Round-up combines a grueling competition with an outstanding array of food, beverage and fun, concluding with a grand western hoe-down dinner and dance.

- Wyoming Congressional | August 8th & 9th

PINES HOLES

This benefit event has been hosted by Teton Pines for over 30 seasons. We are proud to continue this tradition in 2023.

- Tee-It-Up for Oncology | August 17th

Teton Pines largest annual charity event, benefitting St. John’s Oncology department.

- Men’s and Ladies’ Stroke-Play Club Championship

Ladies will play on August 24th. Men play on the 25th & 26th.

- New! - The Member/Employee Season Ending Championship Scramble & Party | September 11th

A closing note: I want to remind all members to help keep our golf course in the best possible conditions - you can do this by:

- Sanding your Divots throughout the course.

- Repairing yours and at least one other Ball Mark on every Green.

- Keeping golf carts on the Cart Paths when paths are provided.

- Pace-Of-Play: “Your position on the course is directly behind the group in FRONT of you, not directly in front of the group BEHIND you”.

Thank you for being the best members in the Valley, and for playing the best golf course in the Valley - Teton Pines.

See you on the course, Matt Stireman, PGA | Director of Golf

Find your place at Teton Pines!

Our team is dedicated to placing you in the proper groups and drills based on your ability.

Racquet Sports continue to flourish here at Teton Pines. We have been getting to see so many new faces along with our seasoned regulars on both the pickleball and tennis courts, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for this. With players forming their own groups, participating in our drills and playdays, taking lessons, hosting parties at the courts and more, both our indoor and outdoor courts are seeing a whole lot of traffic. The additions of pickleball and tennis camps to our programming have been something extra special for our members and we look forward to continuing to bring these unique experiences to Teton Pines. It’s great to see so many smiling faces around the Racquet Sports Center.

As we soon will transition from summer to fall, we look forward to enjoying the beautiful Jackson Hole weather and seeing you all on the courts in our fun, social and nourishing Teton Pines environment!

ON WELLNESS & ACTIVITIES

A Mid-Summer Message from the Director of Wellness & Activities, Jeffrey Cisneros

My father always told me this joke when we realized that time was going faster than we liked; “Time flies like an arrow and fruit flies like a banana”. Time is inching ever closer to one of Teton Pines Member’s favorite events of the year, The Teton Pines Pup Show. Last year’s Pup Show was a huge success with 55 competitors. Planning for this year’s event is underway and we’re going bigger and better with more dogs and an elevated format.

We invite you to bring your four-legged family members on Saturday, Sept. 2nd to participate in categories including best trick, best costume, senior competitor, best fetcher, waggiest tail, most handsome boy, prettiest girl, cutest puppy and owner lookalike. The winner of each category will go on to compete for the top prize: Best in Show! This is the must attend event of the year, we can’t wait to see you and your best friends at the Teton Pines Pup Show.
