T eTon Pines C oun Try Club
FroM The Desk oF our Club PresiDen T —
Thanks to the support from so many of you, the Club enjoyed a very active and successful 2022. This is quite an accomplishment considering the many challenges faced this year with construction projects, an extremely tight labor pool, and an inflationary economy that is unprecedented since the 80s. Despite these hurdles, the Club has flourished, demonstrating the strength and depth of the Teton Pines membership and the strong foundation that has been established over the years.
We are delighted to share that the Club welcomed 48 member families in 2022, completed our golf course renovation, our new swimming complex with a new Jacuzzi and lap pool, and the new outdoor racquet sports center!
We are very excited about these significant club accomplishments. As mentioned in the previous Whisper update, we are making significant progress with conceptual designs for a “Master Plan” which could include the addition of a complete fitness center, an expanded pro shop, more alfresco dining, and expanded culinary offerings. We are also evaluating updates to the Clubhouse facility. We intend to host some town hall meetings this quarter for you to become familiar with the proposal and provide input and suggestions. We welcome your thoughts and ideas and encourage you to communicate them to Todd or any of the Executive Committee members.
Last Fall we invited Henry DeLozier, a principal for Global Golf Advisors, back to Jackson to work with the Executive Committee to conduct some focus groups to measure the pulse of the membership and steer updates to our strategic plan. Henry confirmed that our plan is still aligned; although it is more important than ever that we ensure the Club is a platform for connection with improved socialization and greater engagement for our members by offering lifestyle choices to incorporate into their daily routines. He identified four primary areas of focus to keep the Club on track including:
1) Ensuring the Club has the infrastructure in place to continue attracting and retaining a great talent pool,
2) Maintaining a high level of member engagement and connectivity to ensure strong member retention and a steady influx of membership referrals, and

3) Making certain the Club is relevant to the members and their lifestyles,
4) Retaining a strong and dedicated Executive Committee committed to the future health of the Club.
With these areas of focus in mind, General Manager Todd Bretzlaff and the Department Directors concentrated on developing an ambitious plan for 2023 with an abundance of activities and events intended to provide our members with multiple opportunities to enjoy the Club. With a highly motivated Golf team eager to promote our newly renovated golf course, the Racquet department proudly welcoming members to the upgraded facilities, a vibrant Wellness & Activities department offering expanded fitness and youth activities, and a fresh perspective in the Food & Beverage department with new Executive Chef Laura, we are confident that the Club will create the high-level of vibrancy necessary to further enhance the solid “sense of community” that has always been a symbol of Teton Pines. We are excited about what the future has to offer for Teton Pines Country Club, and I end this message with how it began. We thank you for your passionate support.
Wishing you and your loved ones a “wonderful holiday season and a joyous and healthy New Year.”
Warmest Regards,
John O’Dwyer, TPCC PresidentWith all the anticipation leading up to my first Christmas at Teton Pines, I get the feeling that like many happy events in life it will come and go in a flash. Fortunately, we have the opportunity to make wonderful memories and reflect on how truly special the festive season is at the Club and in Jackson Hole. I look forward to a wonderful experience celebrating the holidays here with so many of you and hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday with family and friends!
I would also like to thank all of you for your generous contributions to the employee holiday fund. Your support of this long-standing tradition at the Club reinforces the depth of appreciation for our team members’ diligence in serving the membership. Your generosity is greatly appreciated during this festive season. It also marks the end of the year as we complete employee appraisals and review the feedback and suggestions from the annual member survey in establishing our goals for the coming year. We are excited about many of the new offerings that we have in store for you.
As we jump into the winter of 2023, many of us will focus on New Year’s resolutions centered around recreation and wellness. Fortunately for the Club, we have plenty of opportunities for both! We have commenced our daily ski shuttle to make it that much easier to get to the slopes and return to the Club for our weekly Happy Hour. Served from 3 pm – 5 pm we invite you to relax with a few drinks (new mocktails are available) and some appetizers from Chef Laura’s new Happy Hour appetizer menu. Bobby and John are both ready to assist you with the golf simulator and your golf swing, and, of course, cross-country skiing is always available. Additionally, we are happy to see the many members actively using the heated lap pool.
For both Tennis and Pickleball, in addition to the multitude of clinics, drills, and socials, Julie will be hosting a few key events including an Australian Open Dinner, Valentine’s Mixers, and our first Member/Guest Tournament in early March. As for Wellness, in addition to a variety of winter excursions, Jeffrey will be introducing monthly Trivia, a Paint & Sip in January, a tour of the National Wildlife Museum in February, and an outdoor photography class in March. Finally, if you are looking for ways to keep the kids active, be sure to check out the many after-school activities and arts &crafts offerings.
Chef Laura has introduced her winter menus for both dinner and lunch and if you have not tried some of her many new dishes already, please make it a point to dine at the Club soon. Winter is such a lovely time to relax with friends and family in the warm and cozy Club while being served by your friendly and familiar waitstaff. Winter also brings the return of live performances by Tasha every Wednesday and our complimentary weekly wine tastings on Thursdays. At the end of January, Patrick and Chef Laura will host their first “French Wine Dinner” and then an “Italian Wine Dinner” in early March. This winter will also mark the introduction of a monthly Sunday Brunch. Join us on the third Sunday of each month and partake in all your brunch favorites at the Club. And you definitely won’t want to miss out on our elevated Easter Brunch on Sunday, April 9.
For 2023, it is our mission to find ways to become more engaging, more satisfying, and a central hub for your social life in Jackson Hole. For any Club to truly be successful it must be more than just a facility, it must be an integral part of our members’ lives and the “heart” of the community.
Enjoy the New Year and all that life has to offer, especially here at the Club!
Happy New Year!
Todd Bretzlaff, TPCC General ManagerA bouT our M eM bershiP
