RDV Sportsplex was recognized from among the Central Florida business community for supporting charities through corporate-sanctioned giving and volunteer programs.

EA HIGHLIGHT CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP Electronic Arts is a leader in the sports gaming world. In 2018, their annual net income was over $1 billion.

EA started a corporate membership with RDV in 2004 to try to break the unhealthy stereotype for gamers and their industry. EA pays for a large portion of their employees’ and employee spouses’ memberships. Currently, we have about 600 employees and employee spouses on the EA account.

As a result of RDV, EA employees have taken more active roles in their healthy lifestyles; EA started carrying healthier snack options in their break rooms and some employees have participated in adventure races for about ten years.

They were inspired by RDV and the healthy environments we aim to encourage.

An example of how changing habits through fitness and a reasonable diet can change a person’s life, Karen joined RDV Athletic Club five years ago. She was looking to make a change to overcome health challenges including Sickle Cell Disease, which involves intermittent and unplanned hospital stays.

I wanted to see what would happen if I was ‘all in’ for 30 days, which turned into 90 days, which have now been over 160 days of focusing on improving my health. I’ve dropped 22 inches all around over the last year and have now lost 130 pounds. I was able to drop four dress sizes. I owe my success to supportive and inspiring friends who have been so helpful in this journey and I couldn’t have made it where I am without RDV.

JOHN HINCHCLIFF After eight years at MVP Athletic Club, Spanish Springs, John decided to give HIIT training a try. my waist size growing and my activity decreasing, I “ With knew I needed a change. ” He stepped into Zone Training but wasn’t sure he would like group fitness. KAREN CASTALDO Fit and active most her life, Karen lived healthy, ran road races, biked hundreds of miles, and completed marathons.

Despite her healthy lifestyle, three years ago she found herself hospitalized due to a rare heart condition. someone who never smoked, was normal weight and “ As cycled close to 4,000 miles/year I was in denial for hours before consenting to go to the ER. ”

She suffered six heart attacks total, leaving her weak and unable to lift as little as 10 pounds. Karen was diagnosed with an additional rare auto-immune disease which left her unable to walk around her house.

“ Multiple setbacks had me depressed, thinking I’d never

overcome this. The first time I took R30 I didn’t last five minutes. I went home and cried remembering the miles I used to ride with ease.

”

At the beginning of 2019 she took a new path.

I decided I was going to be part of the 75% who recover from this condition and I was going to kick this. I’ve lost most of the weight I gained, am regaining muscle tone and getting stronger.

TAMMY HELLEM Chasing down her best fit life, Tammy inspires us to keep moving! Five years ago, Tammy took up running with the hope of losing weight but more so to join in with friends who started working out. Only a few years into her newfound fitness journey, Tammy suffered a seizure sidelining her briefly but also sparking a more intentional focus on diet and exercise resulting in a 75 pound weight loss and more consistent workout regimen.

My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at “ only 64 years old. Her diagnosis has been a strong motivator for me to keep focused on my own health. I now workout 5 to 7 days a week and have come to cherish that feeling of strength after a good workout. I also have a great group of friends at work; we all support one another and keep each other accountable to our fitness goals.

”

In addition to running, Tammy has come to really enjoy the group fitness classes at MVP. I like trying out a variety of classes offered. There have “ definitely been times I have needed to build up the

courage to try some of the classes. When I do, I surprise myself and feel strong both physically and mentally when I step out of my comfort zone and try something new.

GARY NICHOL After receiving news from his doctor that he would need to start taking blood pressure and cholesterol medication, Gary decided he needed to make a lifestyle change. Wasting no time, that afternoon Gary took his road bike down from the garage that had not been used in 15 years and rode 10 miles, and has not looked back since. That day he told his wife, I know this is not going to be easy, but I know I can do this, “ somehow, someway. ” Gary’s inspiring commitment to his health has not wavered, five days a week he can be found eagerly waiting for the doors to open at MVP Athletic Club, Crahen at 5am to start his workout or jump into his favorite group fitness classes including Group Ride or R30.

DAN VANDYK For Dan, a competitive water skier and runner, a knee operation changed the way he was used to working out. His doctor recommended bike riding as a way to rebuild strength and flexibility. ON THE RISE GIRLS HOCKEY GROWTH AT RDV ICE DEN RDV Ice Den started the All-Girls Orlando Express program in the winter of 2017 with 2 all-girls teams in our in-house rec program (a 12U team and a 15U team).

Over the past 3 years, RDV Coaches Sondra and Stoan Pacey, along with RDV Coaches Brent Bailey and Megan Mascarenhas, have all played an instrumental role in helping grow the all-girls program to where it is today, which includes two 8U teams, one 10U team, one 12U team and one 15U team.

Overall, Girls hockey in Central Florida has continued to explode over the past 3 years, especially at the Ice Den, thanks to the combined efforts of coaches like Sondra, Stoan, Brent and Megan who have worked hard to help grow this special area of our business. We’ve hosted all-girls Try Hockey for Free events a couple times a year over the past two years and those events have been a huge success with numbers around 20–40 participants. We also hosted the Sunshine State Girls Hockeyfest this past August which brought together over 100 young female hockey players from all over the state of Florida for clinics, skills competitions, games and a Q & A with former USA Hockey Olympian Julie Chu, as well as a few players from the National Women’s Hockey League. This event is being planned again for August 2020 and will be an annual event going forward.

ON THE MOVE ALI SVENDSEN VICE PRESIDENT OF STUDIO OPERATIONS Since joining the company in 2006, Ali Svendsen has worked in various departments including member services, fitness training and group fitness for MVP Metro, Sportsplex, Rockford and spent 5 years at RDV Sportsplex, Orlando leading the group fitness team.

In 2015 Ali moved into a corporate position for MVP Sports Clubs overseeing group fitness for all 8 facilities. In 2017 Ali moved back to Michigan and played an integral role in planning, opening and managing MVP’s first boutique studio, 4G Athletic in Jenison, MI. In 2020 Ali was named VP of Studio Operations and currently oversees both of MVP’s studio businesses, 4G Athletic and Well-Fit by MVP. Prior to MVP, Ali was in Team Athletic Apparel sales for Gazelle Sports of Grand Rapids. Ali graduated from Aquinas College with a major in sports management and was 1 of 22 rising stars nominated at the IHRSA convention in 2017. She was a video presenter and national trainer for MOSSA (our group fitness content provider) and was a volunteer for the Eatonville, Florida Boys and Girls Club and is currently a volunteer and assistant coach for Girls on the Run in Hudsonville, MI.

EMILY THOMAS DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES Emily Thomas joined MVP Sports Clubs after unique career experiences in both our regions Michigan and Florida.

Born and raised in the Forest Hills, MI area, there was always a connection to the MVP team because of family and friends. After graduating from MSU, Emily started her career at Walt Disney World where she held many different roles in Entertainment, Resort Leadership, and College Recruitment. After fulfilling her dreams at the happiest place on earth, she set her sights on recruiting for the largest Starwood propertythe Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. Upon meeting her future husband, Emily moved across town, to Winter Park and started working for LSQ Funding as their recruiter (and had an RDV corporate membership!).

When the time was right to move back to Michigan, she jumped on the opportunity to work at Byrne in Rockford (and again, had a Rockford MVP membership!). As fate would have it, MVP posted for a Talent Acquisition Manager and the stars aligned. With all the coincidences over the years, the decision to start with MVP felt too good to be true.

Emily started her career with MVP leading the Talent Acquisition teams in both regions, with prior recruitment experience in both markets in her pocket. After welcoming her first baby into

her family, Emily was promoted to Director of Human Resources over both regions to kick off 2020.

She is excited to continually improve process, lead a cohesive and energized HR team, and ensure we are always looking to the future, when it comes to our most important asset our people.

ON THE HORIZON MEMBER SUPPORT CELEBRATES 1 YEAR It has been one year since we started and expanded on the customer service we offer our members by opening our Member Support Center. We aid all members in the Florida and Michigan athletic clubs and studios. The Member Support Center offers support through phone and online outlets for 11 hours each weekday. By providing this amount of accessibility, we have created a more convenient way to gain the knowledge and understanding of all we have to offer our members. Whether it is billing questions, connected device concerns, account information updates, or anything else our members need assistance with, this support shows our continued commitment to provide our members the best membership experience at MVP.

MEMBER MANAGEMENT GIVING MEMBERS CONTROL 2020 brings a renewed focus on convenience and flexibility for our members. With the launch of our new online myMVP member management system, members are given the ability to update all aspects of their membership account with ease. From the initial join to adding family members, upgrading their account to putting their account on hold, this can now all be done online, giving our members a frictionless experience.

GIVING MEMBERS OPTIONS Points Plus was introduced as an option for members to pause their account for a minimal fee and reactivate when the time is right for them. We know life is busy and things can get in the way of being able to visit the gym, so we want our members to have the option of not paying full membership dues during that time all while holding their current rate as well as avoid paying initiation fees upon reactivation. Each member on the account has this ability to be added to the Points Plus program and will continue to earn Health Points, as well as receive a guest pass per month to visit.

VIP FOR MVPS The All-Star Upgrade option is loaded with benefits for our members to enjoy and is the ultimate upgrade. With the upgrade our members have full access to all of our 8 locations in Michigan and Florida and unlimited access to Work-Space, our community co-working space. Additional benefits include bonus Health Points at sign up, monthly guest passes, 10% off food, beverage and retail, and a monthly complimentary tennis court or ball machine rental.

COMMUNITY EVENT RDV Athletic Club’s second annual Movers & Shakers sip and sweat social welcomed 300 guests with a choice of eight group fitness classes, followed by cocktails, craft beer, appetizers, and light bites from popular local restaurants.

More than $27,000 was raised in sponsorships, registrations and a silent auction to help Central Florida’s hurting, hungry and homeless through the Orlando Union Rescue Mission, totaling $55,000 brought in for the charity through this event.

MOVERS & SHAKERS

MVP Athletic Clubs proudly supported the three annual Villages 5K events in the Brownwood, Lake Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs Town Squares.

On average 60 members and team members joined #TeamMVP to run or walk in support of America’s Healthiest Hometown, demonstrating that getting fit and having fun is ageless.

THE VILLAGES 5K SERIES

In its fourth year, the RDV Jingle Run 5k attracted nearly 500 registrants from the community to this fun fitness favorite, raising $17,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida’s Joe R. Lee Club.

RDV JINGLE RUN 5K

This event caters to local officials and nearby residents, providing participants with shirts and medals in a festive atmosphere. Team members assist with taking registrations, packet pick-up, working the course, leading the stretch and even singing the National Anthem. More than $100,000 has been raised for the charity through this event, which dates back to the opening of RDV Sportsplex in 1998.

TS FLORIDA RDV Athletic Club was proud to sponsor the Workplace Wellness Award at the IOA Corporate 5K at Lake Eola in April. More than 60 members and team members came out to walk or run in support of easing hunger in the community, resulting in 101,916 meals donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.

The 25-year-old event attracts 18,000 Orlando businesspeople representing 700 companies and non-profits, and 200 CEOs, making it Orlando’s largest office party.

IOA CORPORATE 5K

Zumbafest was held for the 5th year at all three Florida MVP locations to help kick off the Fall Food drives benefiting the Wildwood Soup Kitchen and Second Harvest Food Bank. This popular two-hour Zumba dance party is open to the public, and the community is invited to participate with a donation of non-perishable food items.

The Tunnel to Towers 5K supports military and first responders through the Stephen Siller Foundation, providing smart homes to America’s most catastrophically injured service members and their families.

TUNNEL TO TOWERS 5K

COMMUNITY EVENT MVP hosted its fourth annual Movers and Shakers group fitness cocktail party in partnership with Children’s Healing Center. The event raised over $25,000 through tickets, community partner sponsorships and silent auction donations, bringing the total to nearly $100,000 in support for CHC over the past four years to help provide a safe place for children with weak immune systems to play.

MOVERS & SHAKERS

The event welcomed more than 260 guests who chose from one of six different group fitness classes. Post-workout, attendees enjoyed cocktails, craft beers and delicious food donated by popular local restaurants throughout Grand Rapids area. MVP Sportsplex’s outdoor pool deck was transformed into an evening party space for the event.

MVP hosted its second annual outdoor yoga series open free to the community during the months of June–August at MVP Athletic Club, Crahen in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Classes were held every Wednesday evening on the club’s outdoor green space averaging 73 participants a week made up of both members and guests in the community.

MVP is a proud longstanding partner and sponsor of the Tulip Time Run, a highly anticipated event kicking off Tulip Time, a weeklong celebration in Holland, Michigan.

As presenting sponsor of the Run, MVP hosts packet pick-up and a health & fitness expo at MVP Athletic Club for the over 4,000 runners registered for the run. Race day morning, MVP team members are on-hand leading pre-race stretching, offering post-race stretches and managing and operating the popular Kids’ Fun Run.

TULIP TIME RUN

TS MICHIGAN For a fourth consecutive year, MVP is proud to support the Hope Network One in Five Marathon Relay. As presenting sponsor, MVP hosts packet pickup at MVP Sportsplex leading up to the race as well as offer post-race stretching for runners on race day.

Showing support both on and off the race course, 50 MVP team members and members made up 6 relay team and competed in support of mental health awareness.

More than 1,200 riders joined together on February 14 to make Heart Day special for children in our communities.

Hosting the second annual MVP Heart Ride, members and guests pedaled with purpose to raise support for the Pediatric Congenital Heart Association.

MVP donated $1 to PCHA for every rider who participated in a cycling class that day across the brand.

Sip. Sweat. Social. is a 21 and up group exercise event co-hosted by 4G Athletic and the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan. Participants benefited the Mental Health Foundation’s be nice. program while sweating from 4G’s signature workouts and sipping on local brews.

The be nice. program is a mental health education, bully and suicide prevention initiative creating positive cultural change through simple daily actions. Together we raised $6,840+ for children and schools in our community.

COMMUNITY PARTN ORLANDO UNION RESCUE MISSION The Orlando Union Rescue Mission provides for immediate physical needs of the homeless, including food, clothing, and shelter in the heart of downtown Orlando. The Mission offers programs designed to lead those it serves to permanent independence built upon a personal relationship with Christ.

KEY INFLUENCER PROGRAM In partnership with Young Life chapters throughout West Michigan, MVP developed the Key Influencer Program to support the ministry’s initiative to connect and do contact work with students and other ministry leaders by providing complimentary MVP All-Star memberships and guest passes to Young Life leaders.

RDV is proud to support this organization through Food Truck Friday donations, groundskeeping through a Florida Leadership service project, and most recently at RDV Movers & Shakers.

CHILDREN’S HEALING CENTER Children’s Healing Center located in Grand Rapids, is the nation’s first year-round recreation center dedicated to kids with compromised immune systems. The Center provides a safe, clean place for kids to gather, engage, learn and play in a germ-free environment.

MVP has been proud to support CHC’s mission to serving children and families in the West Michigan area through donations to the facility’s recreation room as well as collaborating to raise awareness and support through partnership on multiple MVP Movers and Shakers events raising nearly $100,000.

ERSHIPS SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties. The food bank distributed 58 million meals in 2018.

RDV Athletic Club has donated 35,000 meals to the organization through its annual Fall Food Drive and Zumbafest.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS MVP Sports Clubs highly values the community partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and is proud to support their work and mission through a multitude of programs, initiatives and sponsorships.

From donating school supplies and winter apparel to youth in West Michigan, to hosting a summer pool party for nearly 100 school-age children from a Boys and Girls Club branch in Holland, to sponsoring and serving youth and their families at the annual Blessings Banquet at the Eatonville Club, to raising $17,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Eatonville through the RDV Jingle Run 5k, our MVP teams are dedicated to serving youth in our communities.

FRESH STOP FARMER’S MARKET RDV Sportsplex is proud to support the Fresh Stop Farmer’s Market every other Monday, providing revenue to this non-profit that changes lives.

The Fresh Stop Bus is a mobile farmers market serving Orlando’s food desert neighborhoods, offering fresh fruits and vegetables in community-centered locations and at budget-friendly prices.

Its mission is to drive positive health outcomes and create a road map for generational change for families hardest hit by diabetes and heart disease.

THE VILLAGES GROWN AIRSTREAM MOBILE MARKET MVP Athletic Club, Spanish Springs began hosting this mobile market with hyper-local farm-to-table sustainable produce weekly. This convenient market offers members and guests easy access to nutrient-dense locally grown products to promote healthy eating.
