Estamos cerca del 10º Aniversario de IWS, y cuando miro hacia atrás y veo cómo nuestra familia ha creci do, me siento orgulloso de todos los artistas que creen en este proyecto y ponen todo su coraje y trabajo para hacer que la acuarela sea cada vez más universal.
Asimismo, quiero compartirles que todas las filiales e intituciones que conforman esta familia celebrarán nuestro 10º aniversario con una gran variedad de pro puestas y actividades a nivel mundial. Me gustaría extender mis felicitaciones a la coordina dora de la IWS Iberoamérica Tere Lojero por organizar este maravilloso evento -Iberoamérica celebra el Día Mundial de la Acuarela- que une a las filiales de la IWS de Iberoamérica en su amor y pasión por la acuarela.

Y hoy, puedo decir que Iberoamérica ha creado una gran comunidad acuarelística, basada no sólo en sus raíces culturales y sociales, sino en la pasión que estos países sienten por la técnica. Este es un proyecto lleno de entusiasmo y muchas actividades interesantes que no se pueden perder.
We are drawing near to the 10th Anniversary of IWS, and when I look behind and see how our family has grown, I feel proud of all the artists that believe in this project and put all their courage and work to make wa tercolor greater. And today, I can say that Iberoamerica has created a big watercolor community based not only in its cultural and social roots, but in the passion these countries feel for watercolor. This is a big project full of enthusiasm and many inte resting activities that you can’t miss! I also feel thrilled because all of the branches and institutions of our fami ly will celebrate together our 10th anniversary! Many di fferent proposals and activities will take place all around the world. I would also like to extend my congratulations to Ibe roamerica Coordinator Tere Lojero for organizing this wonderful event - the Iberoamerica Festival - Iberoame rica Celebrates the World Watercolor - uniting all the La tin American IWS Branches in their love and passion for watercolors. Dear artists, this year we are again present to celebra te Watercolor. We have prepared this festival together with brother-countries, we have done it, by summo ning artists from all over the country, to show our art, thus strengthening the ties of love, peace, harmony, creating a growing community, as we have been doing these last years, our commitment has been the union among artists so that, together we travel the path of art.In these difficult and challenging times, where we had to learn to reinvent ourselves. IWS Argentina has tried to be present and support the diffusion of water color, and now, we are gradually returning to be able to meet, embrace and paint together. On this day we will not only pay tribute to watercolor, this technique that gives us so much satisfaction, but also life, which allows us this gift of fraternal friendship between artists.

La presente revista contiene acuarelas realizadas con la transparencia y lu minosidad que hacen de cada una de las piezas, motivos para el disfrute de la vista y la sensibilidad.
El ser humano en su afán de comunicarse para transmitir su propia manera de ver la vida, recurre a innumerables medios de expresión, los integrantes de la iws a través del arte de la luz y más específicamente de la técnica de la acuarela, manifiesta de manera estética y bella su agradecimiento por la vida testimoniando pintando su medio natural, su paisaje, su gente su manera par ticular de sentir y pensar, soñando y amando intensamente para dialogar con sus semejantes. El acuarelista en la actualidad dispone de una gran variedad de materiales que le permiten comunicar sin limitaciones. La calidad y ex quisitez cromática, papeles de grandes dimensiones hechas artesanalmente, pinceles, humectantes, se ponen al servicio de la creatividad, permitiendo re sultados que lo convierten en una de las técnicas de mayor cultivo y acepta ción en el ámbito artístico internacional. Su esencia es el agua y la luz que permite dialogar y deleitar profundamente, invitando a la sensibilidad del espectador a comprender que el enriquecimien to espiritual se produce cuando estos elementos se condensan y fluyen por el sendero de la creatividad.
The human being in his eagerness to communicate to transmit his own way of seeing life, resorts to innu merable means of expression, the members of the iws through the art of light and more specifically the tech nique of watercolor, manifests in an aesthetic and beau tiful way his gratitude for life testifying by painting his natural environment, its landscape, its people its par ticular way of feeling and thinking, dreaming and loving intensely to dialogue with their peers. The watercolorist today has a wide variety of materials that allow him to communicate without limitations. The quality and chro matic exquisiteness, large handmade papers, brushes, moisturizers, are put at the service of creativity, allowing results that make it one of the techniques of greater cultivation and acceptance in the international artistic field.

Same as watercolor, IWS has this important mission: connecting people through art. In the same way that we combine pigments on paper to produce our paintings, we want to bring people together through watercolor. The celebration of the 2021 World Watercolor Day meets this objective: bringing people together and being able to show a little of the culture of each country revealed by the brushstrokes of its artists.
A aquarela é uma das primeiras técnicas de arte com que temos contato quando pequenos. A criatividade da criança é despertada pela acessibilidade do materi al, o poder começar e parar, a tinta ser inodora, o solvente ser a água, o suporte ser o papel. A união das características da técnica com essa memoria afetiva contribuiu para que muitas pessoas quisessem retomá-la nestes dias difíceis de Apandemia.aquarela envolve uma relação intima com a água. Ao aquarelar devemos per formar de tal maneira a direcionar a interação entre água e pigmento e ao mesmo tempo permitir que esta conexão crie a fluidez e as camadas transparentes de tinta que são tão próprias e especiais desta técnica. Sempre falo de conectar para meus alunos de aquarela, todos os dias, durante as aulas. Vamos conectar as camadas da pintura, vamos fazer uma ligação entre os elementos. Conectar pela cor, pela sombra, pela pincelada. Se extrapolamos um pouco este universo percebemos o quão a aquarela é im portante para conectar pessoas. Em especial nessa pandemia. Muitas pessoas começaram a aquarelar, como meio de se expressar e de estar conectado com uma atividade prazerosa no dia-a-dia. É maravilhoso ouvir como as pessoas se sentem abraçadas pelas reuniões virtuais de aquarela, alcançando um ponto de encontro com o mundo através delas.

Watercolor is one of the first art techniques we get in touch as a child. The child’s creativity is awakened by the accessibility of the material, by the power to start and stop, the paint being odorless, the solvent being water, the support being paper. The combination of the charac teristics of the technique with this affective memory has contributed to many people want to take it back in these difficult days of the pandemic.
Watercolor involves an intimate relationship with water. When making watercolors, we must act in such a way as to direct the interaction between water and pigment and at the same time allow this connection to create the fluidity and transparent layers of paint that are so unique and special to this technique.
If we extrapolate this universe a little, we will realize the importance of watercolor in connecting people. Especially in this pandemic. Many people started doing watercolors as a way to express themselves and connect with a pleasurable everyday activity. It is wonderful to hear how people feel welcomed by virtual watercolor encounters, reach ing a meeting point with the world through them.

El Salvador is honored to participate in the im portant event “Ibero-American Watercolor Festival” (FIA) held at the prestigious Watercolor Museum in the state of Mexico. The selected works are conse quently the product of the development and evolu tion of those who have followed their technical per formance, content and themes in search of their style and their identity expression in the execution of their visual messages. I know each one of them and I prop erly make judgments of aesthetic value, with pride for the achievements that are already a valuable contri bution to our culture; I highlight the discipline and the imperative need to communicate with the exciting medium of Watercolor, accu mulating experiences and knowledge that contribute to the visual syntax, char acteristic of authentic emerging artists. A generation committed to its time that promises success that transcends borders. These are not free compliments, I do not usually do so but I refer objectively to the study and evaluation of their works.

Durante el siglo XX el desarrollo de la acuarela en España es notable, surgen nuevas agrupaciones, artistas como Julio Quesada, Ceferino Olive, Rafael Requena, Martínez Lozano alcanzan reconocimiento mundial, se crean tres Museos dedicados exclusivamente a la acuarela, en Llança, Caudete y Cre Lavillente.difusión y la riqueza de la Acuarela en España crece, los concursos de pin tura tanto en salones como al aire libre, hace que los jóvenes conozcan la téc nica y empiecen a estudiarla. Los formatos son grandes, se prepara el papel sobre un bastidor y su soporte es consistente.

The spread and wealth of Watercolor in Spain grows, the painting contests both in sa lons and outdoors, makes young people know the technique and begin to study it. The formats are large, the paper is prepared on a frame and its support is consistent.
Throughout the 18th century, watercolor in Europe be gan to have its own entity, to differentiate itself from en graving, to use color and water. The need of travelers to capture architecture, to illuminate their notebooks, made these works seem more like painting than drawing, we can guess that this is how watercolor was born.
A lo largo del siglo XVIII la acuarela en Europa comienza a tener entidad pro pia y a diferenciarse del grabado, a usar el color y agua. La necesidad de los viajeros de plasmar la arquitectura, de iluminar sus cuadernos, hicieron que estos trabajos parecieran más pintura que dibujo y podemos adivinar que así nació la acuarela. En España nacieron las agrupaciones de acuarela a lo largo del siglo XIX, la primera se creó en 1864 en Barcelona y en 1878 en Madrid la Agrupación Es pañola de Acuarelistas, con artistas de la talla de Mariano Fortuny.
Toman auge los simposios, los encuentros. La difusión por Internet, las re des sociales, videos, cursos hacen que la acuarela como técnica y arte tenga reconocimiento mundial. Los encuentros internacionales toman un valor so cial, de comunicación personal, de intercambio de conocimientos y esto sin duda es la gran aportación que la Acuarela da al mundo del arte, un arte sin fronteras, un mismo lenguaje.

Es grato formar parte del grandioso mundo de la acuarela. A través de estos años, me he dado cuenta que sin duda alguna esta técnica tan maravillosa usada desde hace siglos, ha venido a unir a muchos países y lo más impórtate a muchas generaciones. La acuarela es utilizada como un medio de expresión, y es sin dudad la que más se acerca al color de la naturaleza. En este Festival Iberoamericano rendimos un tributo a la acuarela, desde los amateurs y hasta los grandes maestros de la historia del arte.
It is pleasant to be part of the great world of wa tercolor, I´ve realized that, without a doubt, this wonderful technique used for centuries has come to unite many countries and, most importantly, many generations. Watercolor used as a means of expression, and the one that comes closest to the color of nature. This Ibero-American Festival is a humble tribute from amateurs to the great mas ters of art history. IWS has been a fundamental part for this to con tinue through the years and as well for the great work that it has done as a team by being part of this great and beautiful family.

El Museo de la Acuarela del Estado de México, sede de este evento, con 30 años de existencia, se ha puesto como misión, difundir la técnica acuarelísti ca, siendo ya un referente a nivel mundial.

Ubicado en un inmueble edificado a finales del siglo XIX, de arquitectura ecléc tica donde se han realizado un sinfín de exposiciones temporales, destacando el premio Tláloc, como evento internacional, asi como conferencias, concier tos, talleres y teatro, entre otros.
El Gobierno del Estado de México a través de la Secretaria de Cultura y Turis mo y el Museo de la Acuarela en coordinación con la lWS México, llevarán a cabo un evento de vital trascendencia, el Festival Iberoamericano de Acuarela “Nuestro Mundo, Nuestro Color” en el que se conjugaran diferentes expresio nes artísticas de la técnica pictórica de la acuarela, con la participación de 17 países iberoamericanos.
The Government of the State of Mexico through the Secretary of Culture and Tourism and the Watercolor Museum in coordination with the lWS Mexico will hold an event of vital importance, the Ibero-American Wa tercolor Festival “Our World, Our Color” in which dif ferent artistic expressions of the pictorial technique of watercolor were combined, with the participation of 17 Ibero-American countries.
The Estado de México Watercolor Museum, head quarters of this event, with 30 years of existence, has set itself as a mission, spreading the watercolor tech nique, already being a reference worldwide.
Este gran encuentro, nos dará razón de la riqueza de talentos que existen en estos países y genera la base de una gran comunidad acuarelística interna cional en donde cabe destacar lo interesante de este intercambio cultural, que permite el conocimiento más profundo de la acuarela.

La acuarela en Panamá ha sido la técnica pictórica menos utilizada y valorada en los últimos 40 años, fenómeno que puede explicarse por la exclusión en los espacios académicos, la limitada práctica por los artistas y una escasa aceptación social.
En este Festival Iberoamericano de la Acuarela 2022, la IWS Panamá extiende un fraternal saludo a todos los artistas que forman la comunidad internac ional de IWS Iberoamérica, en especial a Tere Lojero, vicepresidente de IWS Globe y líder de IWS México.
