PORTFOLIO

My name is Tenger and I am from Mongolia.
I grew up in a yurt in Ulaanbaatar city's Ger District until I got 6 years old where the yurts are similar to houses but freezing cold in Mongolian winter.
Then, I moved to an apartment that has a Soviet Architecture style.
Ever since I was born, I have encountered different types of spaces, facade designs, and architectural problems. I think there was my interest in architecture started.

The goal of this coursework was to design an apartment for 100 families in Ulaanbaatar city's suburban area. The apartment has got to be affordable and supports a green environment where all the different type of people would feel comfort and coziness.
My concept was to make the apartment's roof to be like stairs. The bottom family's ceiling is the upper one's green terrace. This solution helps the sun's radiation not be blocked by the other apartment. In the end, all families would have access to private and shared roof terraces. I learned the Sketchup and Autocad program from this coursework

The concept was to grow the floor heights to increase the sun's radiation and make it look like a mountain from far. Apartments have inner playgrounds and green areas like European perimeter blocks.
To make the apartments affordable and give the people a satisfying atmosphere was the goal of the design. I solved this by using wooden material for the facade design. This creates a cozy atmosphere in the middle green area like you were in a forest
