Our History

Research and Development

Engineering

MP Pumps, Inc. was founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1942, shortly after the United States entry into World War II. In fact, our pumps landed on the beaches of Normandy.

They were used on transports and other amphibious vehicles on that historic day. To this day, we engineer and manufacture our pumps, keeping in mind just how critical quality and performance can be in every application, just as they were on D-Day.

A strong research and development program is fundamental to innovation. At MP Pumps, Inc., our innovative muscle derives from a highly trained and experienced research staff backed by a fully equipped laboratory for conducting rigorous performance and endurance testing.

MP Pumps, Inc. brings more than a half century of experience in the design and manufacture of centrifugal pumps to each new project. Through experience, we can quickly identify and focus on the critical aspects of every design project and develop an approach to satisfy the most demanding performance requirements.

After the war, our reputation for providing the highest quality centrifugal pumps allowed us to enjoy continued growth. We eventually outgrew our facility and moved to our current location in Fraser, Michigan. Our 100,000 square-foot facility houses our manufacturing, engineering, administrative and marketing staffs.

In addition, we warehouse over 10,000 different parts to insure that our customers receive prompt delivery regardless of their needs or location.

Our engineers use state-of-the-art solid modeling software, designed for manufacturing techniques and fast prototype capability, to move rapidly from initial concept to first production.
