Each year the annual Awards Banquet honors local businesses, volunteers and board members who support the Temple Chamber and help our community continue to thrive. This year’s banquet will be held on Friday, January 25, at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Convention Center. Doors will open at 6pm with a social hour, and the dinner will begin at 7pm. Several awards are given during this event, including the Jean Garner Red Carpet Ambassador of the Year, the Small Business of the Year and Community Impact Awards. As the official representatives of the Chamber, Red Carpet Ambassadors provide a valuable service by welcoming new members, conducting ribbon cuttings and assisting with recruitment. The large and small businesses of the year will also be awarded during the ceremony. Some past winners in these categories consist include The Shoe Box in the Temple Mall and In The Mood Ballroom,
whose downtown revitalization efforts have brought new life to Main Street. The 2012 Board and Committee Chairman Dan Jones will also give his remarks on the past year and introduce Kenny McCarty as Chairman for 2013. Individual ticket prices are $35.00 and can be purchased by registering online at templetx.org or at the Chamber office. Sponsorships are also available by

2013 welcomes several new board members to the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Volunteer board members serve a three-year term and act as the executive body for the Chamber. Incoming board members for the coming term include: Sam Fulcher - Law Office of Samuel Fulcher Harry Macey - Perry Office Supply David Nix - Nationwide Greg Rhoads - 2 Randy Ramsey- First State Bank Central Texas The Top Enterprises Will Morris- Charter Real Estate Hugh Shine- Wells Fargo Advisors Kenny McCarty will take over as Chairman of the Board, with Dan Jones serving as Past Chair. The Chair Elect for 2013 is David Nix, and will be introduced during the Awards Banquet on January 25th.
