Terra Madre Festival

This festival highlights the Slow Food movement (created in Rome, Italy in 1986) and a more ecological vision, a show of taste and gastronomy but also how to link eating well and protecting nature. The crises we are living through require profound changes in human society.

The themes of new geographies in 2020 and the regeneration in 2022 were preliminary stages to theme of the 2024 edition: to restore a balanced relationship between humans and all the rest of nature.

Food is our most important link between nature and culture: Slow Food, through Terra Madre, wants to show a way to have an healthier relationship with nature, through food. Our food reconnects us to the land, the soil, the sea, but it is also an integral part of our identities, our pleasure.

Terra Madre takes place in september 2024 in the City of Turin (Piedmont, North West of Italy).

Terra Madre is a fair that brings the products of small producers directly to the consumer and aims to protect local products. It was a fair that fulfills its purpose and protects sociological solidarity.

This festival highlights the Slow Food movement (founded in Rome, Italy in 1986) and a more ecological vision, a showcase of taste and gastronomy, as well as how to connect good nutrition and nature conservation. The crises experienced are valid for changes in human society. The new geographies in 2020 and the themes of renewal in 2022 were the preliminary stages of the process of the 2024 edition: there are known relationships between humans and the natural rest. Food is our most important link between nature and culture: Slow Food, Terra Through Madre, she wants to show the way to a healthier relationship with birth through food. Terra Madre, the agreement of our food, its conditions, the sea reconnections, but also part of our identities, our tastes, takes place in September 2024 in the city of Turin (Piedmont, North West of Italy)

This day, which we celebrate in December every year since 2009 and crowns its abundance, Slow Food strengthens a sustainable food system by combining healthy diets, nutritional elements and local metabolisms.
