Solution Description For operations that wish to deploy multiple channels quickly, the following solutions could be deployed: (1)

When channels need to be completely independent, a fully integrated Versio solution featuring a choice of SD or SD/HD playout channel, and integrated Harris automation, branding and graphics can be used.

(2)

In situations where shared clip storage and automation control is desired internal to each Versio chassis, users can utilize their choice of SD or SD/HD playout channel, and integrated Harris automation, branding and graphics.

(3)

In situations where shared clip storage and external automation control are desirable, a Versio solution featuring a choice of SD or SD/HD playout channel and integrated branding can be used. The automation control layer uses external device control hardware to centralize automation operations.

In each of these situations, users can choose from additional software-licensed keyed options to enable live input, DVE functions, baseband ingest, scheduled record and codecs, as well as a variety of external device control choices and workflow tools. Additional mirrored channels can be purchased to duplicate the operations of each primary channel. Workflow tools and redundant channel control options are available and reflected by the customer’s choice of internal or external automation control. The types and variety of workflow and redundancy strategy are greater when using external automation control and asset management tools. Multiple channels can be controlled and monitored under a single automation user interface.

Versio: Growing and Protecting Revenue with Cost-Effective Multichannel Launches Harris recognizes the challenges of multichannel launches and has created a solution leveraging its seasoned expertise across the entire broadcast workflow. Versio helps customers grow and protect their revenues by providing a flexible and cost-effective platform solution to rapidly launch and operate channels and services. By offering the ability to add channels one at a time, the cost per channel is a linear one, versus the large investment increments that are common to standard playout systems for each group of channels. Each channel of Versio is a software-based solution leveraging award-winning Harris automation, server, branding and graphics technology integrated into an easy-to-deploy 1RU platform.  Versio helps operations increase revenues and maximize resources via simple configuration and commissioning. At the same time, it offers a high level of simplicity and ease of use, ideal where resources are limited.

The Only “CIB” Solution Leveraging the World’s Most Deployed Automation System Unlike competing “channel in a box” products, Versio fully integrates Harris automation, the most widely deployed content management and distribution system in the world. This is not a system that uses simple serial commands to trigger events, but a sophisticated implementation that accesses the feature-rich, low-level functionality of the video server and branding engine in Versio. The solution offers a choice of running with onboard automation or connecting to either new or existing Harris automation systems for unmatched flexibility in meeting operational requirements. With Versio, installation costs are minimized through its ability to seamlessly connect with existing Harris automation systems via Ethernet, resulting in no disruptions of established workflow and no added overhead costs or need for staff training.

Simple to Deploy and Easy to Use Versio can connect to a NEXIO SAN solution, or run from its own integrated storage. SAN-connected Versio servers stream directly, without having to cache content to a local disk. Versio servers with integrated storage play out content fed from the main server, media cache or archive, and are fully automated by Harris automation and asset management systems. Versio can handle simultaneous content playout in different formats or content regionalized with distinct branding and commercial spots. Fewer hardware components and flexible software options help deploy channels 50 percent faster versus the standard channel launch time, while the Versio system’s single-platform architecture makes it easy to operate and sustain.
