'Sherlock' on schedule By Richard Medugno "We're right on schedule," remarks director Buddy Ashbrook about Sherlock Holmes, the Theatre Arts production which opens at the end of this month.

Bloodmobile needs more donations Palomar will sponsor a bloodmobile Wednesday from 9:30a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Center. The public is invited to participate. Those who donate blood are not only providing needed blood for the community but a lso are obtaining credit which they may designate for one of the San Diego Blood Bank plans. Family coverage may be acquired for all blood usage at no cost for one year through the Blood Assurance Plan.

Group coverage may be obtained by donating your credit in the name of the Palomar College Reserve Fund. Credits may also be applied to expectant mothers and their babies or to an individual patient who has already used blood. The entire process of donating blood takes about 40 minutes, although the actual blood donation only takes eight minutes. Anyone in good he a lth between the ages of 18 and 66 may donate.

'Bravura' seeks stories, poetry Bravura is looking for short stories and poetry for its 1979 issue. Two cash prizes of$25 each will be awarded for the best short story and for the best poem. All manuscripts must be typed, double-spaced , on one side of the

paper. Enter name and telephone number in upper right-hand corner. Be sure to keep carbon copies of manuscripts, as the magazine will be un able to return entries. Submit manuscripts to the English Department. Dea dline: May 1, 1979.

The Seduction, a play being produced and directed by Mike Carroll will run three nights at the end of this month in P-32. The play opens March 29 at 5 p.m. Then it will be presented again March 30 at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 12 noon.

Self help workshops are being offered by the Counseling Department. On March 27, veterans can learn more about "Getting the most out of your VA benefits." On March 28, a class called "Realizing your sexuality" will be given. Two workshop classes are being offered by the Counseling Department. "Decide what you want to do and do it" will be held March 20 followed by " Makin g sense (cents) out of Health Professions" on March 21. All workshops are free and open to the community. ASG Candidates must file papers by March 22 Candidates who plan to run offices in the Associated Student Government must file their Intent to Run papers by March 22. The forms can be picked up in the Student Affairs Office, R-OL Requirements for candidacy are that the student be in enrolled in 12 units and have a 2.00 grade point average. As of this date there are only two cand idates for president, two candidates unopposed for the offices of vice president and treasurer and three candidates running for the ten legistalure positions.

Two more films of the Foreign Film Series are being offered this month. Gate of Hell by Teinosuke Kinugasa will be shown March 22. Made in Japan in 1953, it captures the essence of ancient Japanese culture in which violent passions seethe in conf1ict beneath stern formality. March 29 is the date for Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless, made in France in 1959. It is one of the most important films to come out of the "New Wave" in France in the early 1960's. Both films will be hown at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in room P-32.

A Turkey Trot is to be held Friday, March 16 at noon. The running course will be three to four miles long and is open to both staff and students. The three categories will include men , women, and masters. T-shirts will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category. In April, a H-0-R-S-E basketball· · game will be held on two co nsecutive Fridays in the dome. The event will take placeApril20 and April27 from 10 a.m. until noon. T-shirts will be awarded to the top five finishers. Signups for these events may be obtained in the PE office located in room 0-10.
