USE MUSIC TO ENHANCE SOCIAL CONTENT

Music is a great way to not only elevate your social media content, but also drive engagement by setting the tone or capitalizing off of an existing pop culture trend.

Your video can go from serious to lighthearted and humorous, all with a quick change of music. Music also has the ability to make content more exciting by inspiring your creative video edits!

With just a few simple steps, we’ll show you how to use and source music for your content that will help to create that thumb-stopping social media power we’re all hoping for.

SOURCE MUSIC

If you’re looking to source music, there are a variety of options you can find at your fingertips!

SOCIAL

MEDIA-BASED MUSIC LIBRARIES: Some social media platforms offer access to great music within the app, making it truly easy to find trending, popular songs. Within these apps, you can use music that is directly from the approved commercial library of the specific platform!

Capcut: All-in-one creative platform powered by AI that enables video editing on a variety of interfaces. Within the app, you have access to thousands of music options through their commercial library that you can import while you’re editing!

TikTok: Watch millions of trending videos on one of the top social platforms in the world but in addition to that, access the large suite of trending commercial sounds and licensed tracks with a business account!

USE MUSIC TO DEVELOP YOUR BRAND

Music has the ability to set the tone for audiences and what voice you want your brand to have. Are you the young, fun, trend-driven brand? Or are you the emotional, mature, serious brand? Let the music speak to who you are as a company!

Take a look at the examples below. Both have similar content but listen to how the music or audio selection completely changes the tone and mood!

The key to editing is to have fun, be creative, and don’t be afraid to try different audio tracks and sounds to enhance your content and engage your customers!

Subscriptions are evergreen gift ideas and floral subscriptions are often featured in gift guides across the internet for stumped shoppers looking to give a thoughtful gift at key holidays. Released as a new feature in the spring of last year, eFlorist websites can sell subscription arrangements year-round. Subscriptions are seamlessly received and managed through your POS system. Do note, because future orders are processed by your POS, this feature is accessible only for stores utilizing the RTI and Dove POS systems.

This Mother’s Day, allow your customers to give the gift of subscriptions by offering subscription products on your site.

ENABLE A SUBSCRIPTION ON ANY PRODUCT

You do not need to create a new product from scratch; you can create a subscription version for any existing product. Of course, you can also create a new product that is available only as a subscription, if preferred. For any product enabled (be it many products or just one this holiday), your customer can choose whether to buy once or start a subscription.

FLEXIBLE SUBSCRIPTION WINDOWS

The standard windows offered for subscriptions are weekly and monthly, ranging from weekly deliveries for four weeks to monthly deliveries for a year. As of today, the most common purchase type is monthly deliveries for six months.

EASY TO PROMOTE

To maximize the gifting potential of flowers, highlight your subscription products across your site. You can create a custom banner for your homepage, create a custom marketing tile on your homepage, make a category specifically for Mother’s Day subscriptions, and add that category to your site’s navigation bar. Just make sure you do something to call your customer’s attention to the products.

FLORIST FEATURE

MOSTLY MARTHA'S

Linda Sowell is a lifelong florist, but her career began when she would help her mother and grandmother plant bulbs in the backyard to provide arrangements for wedding receptions. Linda’s first floral business was in partnership with a lady who provided silver containers. They would put together bouquets with flowers from their backyard and flowers from the side of the road, affectionately known as "roadsidia," to provide for country clubs and reception halls.

In 1979, Linda was traveling for work. By chance, she walked into a flower shop in Canton, MS, and by the end of her conversation with the store’s owner, she was developing next steps to purchase the shop. The opportunity to buy the shop allowed her to pursue her floral career while raising her three children.

About ten years after she first bought her store in Canton, Linda realized there was a bigger market opportunity 15 miles away in Ridgeland.

“I noticed that most of my orders were going to hospitals in Jackson, the state capital. Through Teleflora, I was sending orders to a Ridgeland shop that delivered to Jackson. The shop was Mostly Martha’s, which I later ended up buying,” recalled Linda.

Linda has been a Teleflora florist since 1988, and she has continued to be a proponent of Teleflora’s products and services, especially Dove POS and purchasing containers.

“I originally joined Teleflora because I wanted to order the containers. Before Teleflora, I had to get creative but having Teleflora’s containers was a big asset. They’re a little pricey, but you have to look for the best product.”

Linda’s journey with Teleflora led to her giving back by becoming a Teleflora Unit President and becoming the president of Mississippi’s Florist Association.

“I felt like going to these meetings and meeting other florists in my state and throughout the nation gave me an advantage. I would know who the best florists were in different parts of the state.”

When Linda’s daughter, Elizabeth, turned 12, she started working in the shop designing window displays. When she got old enough to drive, she began delivering flowers. After graduating from Mississippi State University, Elizabeth went to work in an architectural design firm, but mom’s flower shop called her back home. After rejoining Mostly Martha’s, Elizabeth won the Mississippi State Floral Association and the Mid-South Floral Association competitions in 2006. She qualified for nationals in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she placed second!

For the past 15 years, Linda and Elizabeth have been co-owners of the shop. Linda is proud of her daughter and the new generation putting their imprint on her legacy.

Even when Elizabeth was in school, she was there for me. She has always been a great asset, and she increased her workload as the years have gone on. She has taken over now to run the shop with my granddaughters

The family business is going strong in its third generation. Three granddaughters, Elise, Ashlee, and Ivy, are working alongside Elizabeth and Linda. On many days, you can spot Elizabeth’s first grandson, a potential fourth-generation florist in the shop.

Throughout her sixty years in floral designing, Linda has realized that the best part of owning her own business has been working with family and creating a brand.

“Owning your own business requires you to be there. Some people try to hire people to run them, but it’s better if you’re there to put your own personality behind the brand and work with the people in your town.”
