White Ink opens gas station/convenience store/ service department in St. Charles. February 21 Dean Price wins Monsanto’s “American Farmers Grow Communities Award” and donates $2,500 each to the CALL (Children of Arkansas Loved for a Lifetime) and

the Almyra Fire Department. Tanner Varnadore receives bone marrow transplant. February 28 Local hard rock band, Break the Silence, founded by DeWitt natives Timothy and Tyler Wylie, takes off. February 24 is proclaimed “Charlie Hamilton Appreciation Day.” MARCH March 7 Teri Relyea, author of Journey Map, has a book signing at PCCUA DeWitt campus. March 14 The fundraising organization Acres of Help, Inc. distributes funds in the amount of $15,620 to five requesting organizations. Monsanto employees participate in the company’s second Rural Hunger Volunteer Week and give back to the community. PCCUA DeWitt, in conjunction with Arkansas County Partners in Health and DeWitt Hospital and Nursing Home, hosts a Heart Healthy Summit. March 21 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, holds christening ceremony for the motor vessels Al Workman and Bill Black, named in honor of the first lockmasters of Lock and Dams No. 1 and No. 2.

The 2013 Lil’ Cheetah 5K Race raises $14,000. One hundred percent of the proceeds will fund scholarships for DeWitt High School seniors. March 28 Police make two drug arrests in St. Charles in the same week. APRIL April 4 Young Insurance Agency and Cross Agency merge into one insurance organization. Farmers and Merchants announce the promotions of Kirk Vansandt to senior vice-president of the DeWitt office and Christy Malahy to assistant vicepresident in the accounting department of the Stuttgart office. April 11 Runaway pilot Dennis Hunter of Rohnert Park, CA, turns himself into authorities. April 18 Reydell’s longstanding landmark, The Reydell Corner Store, burns down. The source of the fire is unknown but may have been the result of storms the night before. April 25 DeWitt High School’s FBLA compete at the state FBLA conference in Little Rock. MAY May 2 A group of visitors from Alberta, Canada, motorcycle their way through DeWitt. The DeWitt School Board hires Dr. Lynne Dardenne as superintendent on a three-year contract. May 9 The Casscoe Community Center hosts its annual all-you-can-eat barbeque. Bethani Hoelzeman, DeWitt High School senior, is the first runner up in the Arkansas DAR Good Citizen contest. May 16 The Lance Padgett family is chosen Arkansas County Farm Family of

the Year. Two men from St. Louis, MO, are arrested for drug possession during a routine traffic stop. New Life Fellowship hosts their 2nd annual Mud Run to support missionary families in Israel, Mexico, Romania, Philippines and Turkey. Gillett hosts Heritage Days Pageant and Talent Show in the Gillett High School auditorium. May 23 Mayor Ralph Relyea announces that a new biodiesel refinery is set to open in DeWitt in October, and it will employ 4 to 5 local people. Plans to renovate the Carroll Lester Memorial Recycling Center are revealed. May 30 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposes a possible expansion of the White River National Wildlife Refuge boundary. JUNE June 6 Gillett hosts their 5th annual Heritage Day festival. Festivities began May 4, continued throughout the month of May, and culminated the weekend of May 24. June 13 DeWitt’s Dollar General Store relocates to a new building and holds their grand opening. DeWitt softball teams win the championship in the June Jam 2013 softball tournament. June 20 Laney Eldridge opens Ella Blue, a new clothing boutique in DeWitt. The Arkansas County Bicentennial Committee is formed and starts making plans for the 200th anniversary celebration of Arkansas County in December. June 27 SwitchbackH, a heavy metal rock band started by Curtis Yancey of Stuttgart, records their first two music videos in Stuttgart. Their first album Beginning of the End is set to be released in July. DeWitt Public School teachers attend four days of professional development training in TESS (Teacher Excellence and Support System), the new state-mandated teacher evaluation system. DeWitt Pride regroups and gets the ball rolling again after a brief hiatus to restore and preserve DeWitt’s history and Downtown District.

Prior experience in a for-profit behavioral healthcare company is strongly preferred. A Masters or Doctoral Degree in behavioral healthcare business adminstration, or closely related field is a plus but not required. A willingness and ability to relocate following the training period to another Acadia Healthcare Inc. facility, which may be anywhere in the continental United States.
