Ahmadou Hampâté Bâ said at a UNESCO conference in 1960: «In Africa when an old man dies, it is a library that burns.» To not forget the treasures of the past that constitute our memory, we were asked to create first a magazine and then a digital service based on the theme of our choice.
Being a great gourmet and a lover of cooking, I decided to work on the culinary heritage of Benin. My challenge was: "How to find a way to make known the rare or disappeared dishes of the Beninese culinary heritage ?"
The culinary heritage of Benin is mainly transmitted orally, there are not many documents (books) restoring the different dishes.
The magazine is dedicated mainly to children and just a little to their parents.
It teaches local cuisine through a mix of recipes and stories and allows them to spend time with their parents.
P.S.: the document is in French. For the English version you will have to wait a little.
