And these shoes might be my comfiest pair. I've been dressing them up/down any chance I get, whether that's with a tiered mesh skirt or cargo pants. They not only look fun, but they also make walking way more enjoyable thanks to the super cushy midsoles. So-called "max-cushion" shoes think pillowy, floaty concoctions that promise the sensation of flowing, low-impact strides have been huge in the running world for the last few years, and I've welcomed most of the options I've tried. None of them, though, have delivered the visceral, lightweight joy of On's new Cloudmonster shoes. Right out of the box, walking down the hall of my apartment with these on my feet had me smiling almost in disbelief at the bounce and the cushion. Already my go-to shoes for running, yes, but for airports, traveling, exploring, hanging out. Total gamechangers.
