Fakuma 2026: an anniversary event
The 30th Fakuma, from 12 to 16 October 2026 in Friedrichshafen, will once again be a celebration for the plastics processing industry
Fakuma 2026 will be an anniversary event, and it’s already arousing great interest a year and a half in advance: two thirds of all available booth floor space has already been reserved for the 30th international trade fair for plastics processing, which will take place from the 12th through the 16th of October, 2026. The exhibitors and the trade fair promoters are already promising a world-class, multifaceted supplementary programme for this industry highlight in Friedrichshafen.
The 30th Fakuma, from 12 to 16 October 2026 in Friedrichshafen, will once again be a celebration for the plastics processing industry. “Even now, everyone is talking about Fakuma’s anniversary edition and interest is tremendous,” says Annemarie Schur, Fakuma project manager at trade fair promoters P. E. Schall. “Two thirds of all available exhibition floor space has already been booked. And all the industry’s major players will be back again next year. The good booking levels provide a strong basis for all involved parties to once again organise a world-class, lively trade fair with an outstanding supplementary programme.
The highly specialised community of experts in the plastics processing industry is focused on further technological developments in the key areas of efficiency, digitalisation, costeffectiveness and sustainability. The path to this goal leads
directly to a circular economy. 1639 exhibitors provided fresh impetus for pressing issues, both current and future, at the last Fakuma in October 2024. The large proportion of exhibitors from outside of Germany (47.5%) once again underscored Fakuma’s high levels of internationality and its significant global standing. Many companies reserved their booth locations for the 30th Fakuma in 2026 and the 31st Fakuma in 2027 immediately after the event.
Fakuma Celebrates 30th Anniversary in 2026!
In the fall of 2024, Fakuma’s trade fair promoters and exhibitor advisory board agreed on a new event schedule running from Monday through Friday. This decision was preceded by an exhibitor survey, in which the majority voted in favour of the change. The 30th Fakuma will thus take place from Monday the 12th through Friday the 16th of October, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Exhibitors, expert visitors and guests will once again transform the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre into the focal point of a grand family celebration. “Bookings are going strong because the plastics industry is already looking forward to the traditional gathering in Friedrichshafen,” says the project manager. “We’re picking up where we left off with the inspiring events that accompanied the trade fair in 2024 and will be offering a comprehensive, well-rounded supplementary programme again next year,” promises Annemarie Schur. “Amongst other features, the exhibitor forum, the round-table talks and career day helped establish valuable contacts and generated ground-breaking impetus at many levels. In 2026 as well, an attractive trade fair programme will accompany the exhibition. We’re already looking forward to Fakuma’s anniversary edition in 2026!”
FIMIC presents the new FCS Filter designed for complete scraper cleaning
FIMIC to launch its FCS Filter, a breakthrough solution designed to solve one of the most common issues recyclers face in filtration: Contaminants stuck inside scrapers
FIMIC, a global provider of automatic melt filters for plastic recycling, announces the launch of its latest innovation: FCS Filter, a breakthrough solution designed to solve one of the most common issues recyclers face in filtration — contaminants stuck inside scrapers
What’s the problem?
In plastic recycling, new materials streams (previously being incinerated) now end up in the recycling world. New materials mean new and more contaminations, such as PET/PA fibers, aluminum foils, metal powders, sand, or fine particles that often get trapped inside the scraper channels of melt filters, causing increased downtimes and requiring frequent screen changes (typically every 2–3 days) to clean the scraping elements. To overcome this issue, what the industry truly needed was a technology capable of ensuring complete and reliable scraper cleaning together with an effective discharge of the filtered contaminants.
The solution: FCS Filter
FIMIC’s answer is the FCS - Forced Cleaning Scraper, a new filter design equipped with a mechanical piston that performs a fast, effective, and forced cleaning of the scraper channels. Unlike traditional solutions, thanks to this mechanical action, the scraper cleaning is independent from inlet pressure, guaranteeing consistent performance under all working conditions.
Key benefits of FCS Filter
• Complete cleaning of scraper channels, extending machine working time
• Inlet pressure no longer crucial for effective cleaning
• Efficient discharge of contaminants even in highly contaminated streams
• Specific solution for difficult contaminants such as plastic fibres, aluminium foil, fine sand, metal powders and small stones.
Application field
The FCS Filter is designed for the same filtrations, throughputs, and materials as RAS filters, with no particular limitations, but is especially suited for streams with high levels of fibres, aluminium, or fine particulate where standard RAS scrapers struggle to discharge properly.
The FCS filter is available in four different sizes – FCS 400, FCS 500, FCS 600, and FCS 700 – designed to meet the needs of different recycling plants. With this range, FIMIC provides a reliable solution for complete scraper cleaning and effective contaminant discharge across various production scales.
A step forward in recycling innovation
With the FCS Filter, FIMIC wanted to go beyond conventional solutions and offer recyclers a way to finally overcome the issue of incomplete scraper cleaning. This innovation guarantees longer machine uptime and greater process reliability, even with the most challenging contaminants.

With his words reported below the President of the Magic Group, Mr. Ferruccio Giacobbe, devotes the moon’s landing of his company on the planet of industrial machines and he does it always in an innovative and futuristic way.
“Innovation is and always will be the engine that fuel growth and development of Magic. Up to date no one in the world has ever built a completely electrified accumulator head of big size, Magic, which always looks ahead and, driven by this philosophy, has understood that even in the field of industrial machines the complete electrification will become a determining and indispensable factor. We did it in the past with the continuous extrusion technology for machine up to 60 Tons for the production, per example, in 6+6 cavities for 5 litres containers; we do it today also with the industrial machines for containers up to 280 litres. Soon we will do in fact a second Open Day to show the world the new transfer machine with all electric
technology of 80-100 Tons for containers up to 280 litres. This machine will have an incredible saving for our clients in terms of energy consumption equal to almost 180.000 Euro per year. We are led to think that electrification is all about the necessity of the energetic economy. But this is one of the aspects, even though very important. The electric motor means also more precision and repeatability in the execution of the movements, that impacts on the efficiency of the machine, in lighter articles and shortest working cycles and with less wastes. It will be easy for our clients to understand how advantageous and innovative is to produce with a machine which consume 50-60% less, that thanks to its stability allows shortest working cycles and allows to produce lighter articles and even more with reduced maintenance costs of 50%.”
We are sure that orientation to ’Green”, to be effectively implemented, must bring to our clients even advantages in terms of profit. In fact, in 25 years and 1800 electric machines sold as well as having “saved” almost 3 billions of Kg in CO2, our clients have saved more than 500 million euro in electric energy. To these many various millions must be added for the economy in maintenance costs.
We want our clients, with our patented technology, win the complex challenge of the market; we aspire to become their partner, grow with them and become their reference point in the field.”

PRESMA machines conquer the world
Leader in the sector of injection moulding machines for thermoplastics, PRESMA creates presses ranging from the simplest and most traditional, to the recent multi-station rotary versions
PRESMA SpA, in the sector of injection moulding machines for thermoplastics since 1937, produces over 100 models with closing forces from 60 to 6000 kN, mould holder plates with dimensions up to mm. 1860x1860, versions with modular closures with 1, 2 or 3 stations and rotary ones with 2 to 18 stations; opening moulds horizontally or vertically; punching or transfer screw injector assemblies, multicolour, for structural foam or bicomponent (sandwich structure). Since 2010 it has also offered horizontal and vertical injection machines, with and without columns, single and multiple moulds, for the production of solid and liquid rubber and silicone articles. The machines produced for the specific rubber sector are represented by special versions made to customer specifications.
The experience acquired in over eighty years of presence on the market and the available technical potential have allowed in these first years of presence in this sector to create presses ranging from the simplest and most traditional vertical machines without columns and horizontal versions with columns up to 400 tons to the most impressive vertical machines from 300 to 1600 tons with and without columns with translating tables and/or
equipped with multiple injector groups and recently multi-station rotary versions for rubber and silicones with horizontal and vertical mould opening and closing. For over twenty years, production has been 100% to order and concentrated on special systems created to customer specifications; for this reason, a large commitment is reserved for research and development which guarantees the company a constant “market share”.
The company is made up of around fifty employees and is organized internally so as to be independent in all phases of the design of all the components, of the realization of the order including the most important mechanical processes, the manuals, up to the testing of the plant; an online and on-site after-sales technical assistance service completes its range of services.
The company exports on average 75% of its production and operates at different times throughout almost the whole world; the main markets are however represented by Europe and neighbouring countries.
The most important achievements of the last decades are represented by:
• Solid silicone moulding machines with a clamping force of 1600 tons designed to overinject solid silicone insulation
coatings onto fiberglass bars up to 4 meters; specifically, insulators for high voltage pylons.
• Rotary machines with 8 working stations with vertical closure and equipped with two vertical punching screw injection groups specific for the production of industrial wheels in PU or TR for the tread and Nylon or PP for the hub.
• Range of hybrid and totally electric machines specific for the injection moulding of expanded thermoplastic resin caps as an alternative to cork for wine, sparkling wines and T-shaped caps for spirits.
• Rotary injection machines with 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, 16 and 20 stations for the moulding of ground PVC coming from the recovery of disused electrical cables. For the road construction sector, these rotary machines are used for the production of road cones and bases up to 40kg. to support the signage. Versions equipped with special injector groups are used for the production of road barriers and cable trays with recycled PP covers, the latter as an alternative to concrete. All these articles have large thicknesses, even more than 10 mm and require a long stay inside the mould for optimal cooling; they are therefore difficult to print with traditional single-station machines.
• Injection moulding machines for expanded, recycled and co-injected thermoplastics (structural foam – co-injection).
8-station rotary machine with vertical closure for moulding solid silicone articles.
• Automated moulding islands for the production of screwdrivers with handles in three/four thermoplastic materials; handles for brushes and various multicoloured grips.

A leap forward for mechanical recycling
Folcieri new granulator EZ10 has been designed to support the highest production rates, reduce operating costs, and help lead the industry toward a more competitive and sustainable future
In the field of mechanical plastic recycling, the granulator is not merely an auxiliary machine—it is the beating heart of the entire production process. Its ability to perform precise cuts and maintain a consistent output directly affects the efficiency and profitability of the plant. High-quality cutting produces homogeneous flakes, free from stringers and excess dust, which ensures a smooth flow in subsequent washing stages, reduces energy consumption and friction, and extends the lifespan of components.
The granulator must also guarantee uninterrupted production, as every module in the line is calibrated for a specific throughput. If the granulator fails to sustain that flow, the entire system comes to a halt. In recent years, mechanical recycling has entered a new phase of evolution. Washing plants are now designed to handle extremely large volumes, driving demand for granulators that are bigger, more reliable, and capable of minimizing downtime for maintenance. It is within this context that the EZ10 was born—a granulator designed to replace up to three conventional machines, simplifying plant architecture and delivering high productivity across three continuous work shifts. Its strength and reliability allow it to process challenging materials such as HDPE bottles and thin plastic films, while still ensuring high output levels. Its dimensions are impressive: a rotor with a diameter of 1,930 mm, a pulley weighing 3,200 kg, and a total machine weight of 38 tons. Yet cutting power is
not EZ10’s only strength. It also retains all the hallmark features of Folcieri mills, including high cutting efficiency, wear resistance, maximum safety, and ease of maintenance.
EZ10 is built to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Special attention has been given to maintenance: the rotor can be rotated using an auxiliary motor to simplify blade replacement, the screen holder opens automatically, and the screen can be removed with the aid of a hoist. A water-cooling system applied to the rotor, housing, and bearing supports ensures thermal stability even under the most demanding conditions. In addition, an innovative energy-saving system recovers excess energy and feeds it back into the cycle, reducing waste and improving overall line efficiency.
EZ10 is not just a new granulator—it represents a leap forward for mechanical recycling. It is a machine designed to support the highest production rates, reduce operating costs, and help lead the industry toward a more competitive and sustainable future.
