PREFACE

About this Manual The Voice CMS user manual is intended to give you a jump-start working knowledge of CMS. You will be guided through the features, requirements and application procedures. This document contains set by step procedures, illustrations, and examples to help your way while working with CMS.

Using this Manual Voice CMS comes with a complete set of end-user documentation with which you should be familiar. This manual is divided into three major parts and a series of glossary terms. The parts are as follows:

CHAPTER

1

INTRODUCTION

Voice content management system allows the site and or content Owner, to create web and WAP galleries of images, video, games and ringtones that are ready to download directly to mobile handsets. CMS facilitates the organization, control, and publication of a large content, such as images, ringtones and multimedia resources. Voice Content Management Platform has been designed for mobile multimedia content and services to be created/uploaded configured and published. This allows operators to delegate to content providers and aggregators to create, aggregate, and deliver a large variety of content. Voice CMS is an integrated package that forms a common platform for content providers and service providers to configure, upload and publish a large variety of content. Voice CMS administrator maintains and monitors the integrity between content provider and service provider. The Voice CMS comprises of three key components

 Content Provider Module: The module allows for the total management of content, by the system owner. The content Provider module consists of two phases. In the first phase, client module enables CP to create and configure content and during the second phase uploading of the content is performed. The CP module, accessible to content providers also updates the content on regular basis.The CP module is managed by the administrator,upon whose approval content is allowed to be published.This module interface also stores information about the list of content providers and content owners.



Administrator Module: Through the administration interface, you are able to create manage and edit galleries and content. The authorizing power resides by the administrator.This module is accessible only to the Voice CMS administrator and through this module,admin will create,manage and monitor Content Provider and Service Provider accounts.The content configured and uploaded by the content provider is approved by the administrator before getting published by the service provider.  Service Provider Module: SP module enables SP to select approved content and publish it to various sites. A site is an typically be the VAS group within the Operator (central or at the circle level), or can be the CMS admin also

1.1 Features of the System Voice Content Management System (Voice CMS) is made of a number of modules that communicate seamlessly together to make up the Mobile service platform. The CMS is a web based application, and provides simple and intuitive web based interface that allows anywhere access to the CMS. It provides a number of features that have been specifically designed for handling multiple content types, content providers, and multiple publishing channels. The main features of the CMS and the modules that form part of the CMS are briefly described in this section. 

1.2 Accessibility The user can access the Voice CMS Web Application by opening the browser and typing “http://10.0.1.xxx/voicecms/login.htm” in the URL field.

As the URL is entered, the user will get the Voice CMS default page followed by the Login screen. The Login Screen allows the user to enter into the Voice CMS Home Page. The super administrator first logs in to the application and creates new users and gives them various access privileges. New Users may be Administrator, Service Providers or the Content Providers. If the privileges are provided by the Super Administrator, Administrator can also create new users (only of type Content Providers and Service Provider), and can set their access privileges. Users created by Administrator are not visible to Super Administrator. Super Administrator can also delete the Active User(s) by checking the checkbox in front of the user name and pressing delete button. Content Provider and Service Provider can also create users, set their permission and delete them. Each and every user is given a unique Login Id, which allows the user to enter in to the Voice CMS website. There can be more than one user with the same user name but they must have different login ID.

Show Providers

‘Show Providers’ page of the CP module stores the list of the content providers.Each content provider is assigned with a unique code.This page provides information about the content provider and his code.

CP code and CP name can be searched from the list by providing the details of either of them.

2.2.6 Content Owners

Content Owners page of the CP module stores the list of the content owner. Each content owner is assigned with a unique code. This page provides information about the content owner and his code.

Content owner code and Content owner name can be searched from the list by providing the details of either of them. View Categories

The different categories configured are listed in ‘View categories’ page. Content is classified in categories and each category has sub categories. Both categories and sub categories can be seen from the following screen. The existing categories can be viewed from the drop down box of ‘Content Types’

To view sub-categories, click on a Category name in the above page. Similar page with a list of sub-categories will be dispalyed as shown below.

2.2.7 Reports

Reports page displays the details of the content and the date of their upload. These are generated for the content that are uploaded.

The reports can be filtered on different parameters such as from, to date and the type of content. Select a parameter to filter such as ‘category’ and click on ‘View’ to generate appropriate report. The table consists of the caption, description, type, category, sub-category and the upload date, its status.

ADMINISTRATOR MODULE

3.1 Home page Administrator is at the top level on the user’s hierarchy. Administrator Module is accessible to super administrator and allows to create user accounts and provides access privileges to administrator, content providers, and service providers.

If a user enters as a Content Provider or Service Provider, then he/she can access only those sections for which they have permission. As we have logged in as Super Administrator, so we have all the rights to create, edit, set permission and delete the existing user. In addition to the rights to create other user accounts, admin is authorized to carry out the entire functions with the help of the following sub menu: Content Providers > Service Providers > Masters > Sites > Content Category > Content Approval >User Administration

This Home page consists of various segments. Click on each segment in order to open their corresponding screens. Click on Home on the top right corner of the screen in order to view the Home page. Click on Log out in order to return to the Login Screen.

3.1.1 Basic Form Objects and Their Functionalities The basic form objects used in the system and their functionality is as follows: FORM OBJECTS

FUNCTIONALITY This is a Drop Down List. On clicking the down arrow at the right corner of the Drop down list box, the user can see the options available in the drop down list. Here the user can select any one option from the Drop Down List. This is a check box. This button allows the user to select any number of options given to the user.

This is a grayed checkbox. It means that the user cannot select this check box. This is a disabled Drop down list box, which means that the user cannot access the options under it. Only the option displayed in the list box as grayed is available to the user. This is a text box, which is used to get input from the user.

3.1.2 Content Providers Page Voice CMS allows content provider accounts to be created. This allows the CP to log into the CMS and deposit content. Each CP is provided with a unique account. Once an account is created, a separate content staging area is created for the CP into which only the CP has access for viewing and managing his/her content. Each Content Provider is given a unique ID by which they are referred in the Voice CMS.

The screen below shows the main page of Content Provider with respect to the Super Administrator view. Content Providers maintains separate modules, which is described in Content Provider Login.

To add a new content provider, click on ‘Add New’.

To delete any Content Provider, check the appropriate checkbox in front of the Content Provider name and click on ‘Delete’ button.

To view the content deposited by a content provider, click on the content provider ‘Name’ given as a link. it will display another page where the details about the selected content provider are displayed.

Viewing the Content details

Content details page shows the information about a particular content provider. The contact details and the type of content to be uploaded can be viewed from this page. To see what contents a particular Content Provider has deposited, click on the content provider ‘Name’ given as a link. This will display another page showing the details about the selected content provider

Contact Person Information

Personal information details such as name, address, phone mobile and mail are displayed. Click on the Add link, it will display text boxes under each field name in order to enter the personal information of the Content Provider. As the information is written, click on the update link to save the changes or click on cancel button to discard changes.

Click on the ‘Edit Permissions’ on the top right side of the page. It will display another page similar to the page shown below.

This page contains a list of available modules for content provider. The user can set the access privileges for each module in terms of View/Edit/Create/Delete. User can also change the User Name, Login ID and Password of Content Provider, which will be in effect after submitting the form. Adding New Content Provider

Click on the ‘Add New’ button on the bottom-right side of the Content Providers page, in order to add a new content provider. Clicking ‘Add New’ will display another page similar to the screen below. The new content provider can only be added if there does not exist any content provider with the same name. If it is already in the list, it gives message as “CP Name already exists!”

Editing Content Providers Page

To edit any information in the existing Content Provider, click on the Content Provider ‘Name’ link in the Content Providers page. The information related to that content provider will be displayed on another page.

Note:

User cannot edit the Content Provider ID as it is automatically generated.

After making modification click on the ‘Submit’ button to save the changes done. If you don’t want to save the changes you have made, click on the ‘Cancel’ button.

3.1.3 Service Providers Page The Voice CMS platform supports Service Providers, who create and deploy services on the CMS. An SP would typically be the VAS group within the Operator (central or at the circle level), or can be the CMS admin also.

For each SP, an account is created by the voice CMS admin. The account provides a login as well as access rights. The admin can assign to each service provider a set of CP as well as a set of Circles. Thus, the SP can use the content from the associated CP only and will deliver content only through the specified circles. This allows the CMS to Voice CMS User Manual

CHAPTER

4

SERVICE PROVIDER MODULE

The voice CMS platform supports Service Providers, who create and deploy services on the CMS. An SP would typically be the VAS group within the Operator (central or at the circle level), or can be the CMS admin also. SP can use content only from the associated CP and deliver content only through the specified circles. This allows the CMS to manage multiple applications with clearly defined access rules. The main functionalities provided are:    

Map Content to Circles – This allows the content to be mapped to individual circles. Once the mapping has been performed, the content can be modified for each circle for circle specific information. Content Mapping – A number of options are provided to map content to applications through the web based interface. This includes: Selection of content based on filters

User Creation – The SP can create his own users, with specified rights and permissions to access only the SP. These user details are not available to the CMS admin.

Attach content to application

MIS and Reports – A number of reports are made available to the service provider, in terms of the applications and content. This allows the usage of each application to be monitored and services improved.

4.1 Home page Admin has the authority to create user accounts for SP. After authenticating the username and password, home page with modules accessible to service provider are displayed.

Publish content Reports

4.1.1 Publish Content By default, the main page of the application and ‘Publish Content’ page are one and the same. Service provider can view the content that is approved by the admin module from this page and can publish it to different operator circles. SP can filter the content to be viewed with the help of many parameters as displayed on the screen. The filter parameters are: 

Language: Select a language from the drop down list

Sub-Category: Select a sub category-For each of the category, different options are provided under sub category Format

 

Category: Select a category from the drop down list

From and To: Specify the time when the content was published.

Content ID: All the content is assigned with unique content to identify it with.

Once the filter parameters are specified, click on ‘View’, the content would be displayed as in the following screen

Click on the check boxes in order to select the content from the list and click on Add displayed on the bottom right of the page.

Following page would be displayed .The page shows the content selected by the user and if the user wishes to add more content, then he can do so by clicking on AddMore provided at the bottom left side of the page.

Follow the same steps as similar to Add Content screen

From the above screen,

After selecting the content, click on Select Site when the content is selected. The following page is displayed. It displays a list of sites and their ID’s as each site is assigned a unique ID to identify.

Click on the check boxes in order to select the sites to which content has to be published The content would be published on that particular selected site and the status would be displayed as in the following screen.

4.1.2 Reports

Reports are generated in order to keep track of the content published on the different sites. They can be filtered on a number of parameters. Select Site ID: The user can select the site ID from the drop down list Max Rows: Select the Max number of rows to be displayed From and To Date: Select the time of publishing

As a parameter is selected, click on ‘View’ button.
