IT’S A NEW YEAR, WHAT DO YOU WANT... What do you want to dream about? What do you want to leave? What do you want to try? What do you still want? What do you want to understand? What? You should ask yourself what it is that you want in life. For most of us we have a long list of things that we do not want in our life. But we do not know what we really want and for what reason. You might be thinking that I know what I want. I want more money, time or happiness etc. from my life. But I am not interested in the general things they are just the preprogramed answers that you have been living with or they are forced on you by media or people around you. You have to ask yourself do I really want that or just that I think it will be good to have it. Are you doing things to please others you have to think about that? What are you doing in your life and why are you doing it. You need to understand it very important that you ask yourself that. We all have same 24 hours a day. Stop watching TV, stupid videos on the internet or wasting time in any other way. You want more money. You want better relationships. You want better health. Ask yourself good questions and you’ll find your answers.

Reflect on your past to Thrive in the future.

hen was the last time you were enjoying an activity so much that you lost track of time, perhaps even skipped a meal, or missed your bedtime and still felt energized afterwards? For me when I am doing something creative like a drawing, staging a house, working on our magazine. . .that process of creating and being immersed in a project to make it the best I possibly can causes me to lose track of time. The process just makes sense. Think back to when we were kids and exploring the woods or following a stream how you would lose track of time. Yes it was play, but those same enjoyable activities still ultimately bring back alive that sense of play. Does this sound familiar? Doing something for the sake of activity itself, for the process, not necessarily for the outcome but that feeling of being energized for the moment. Is this what they mean by being in one’s natural element? Being in the zone, feeling connected with one’s authentic and true self. These terms

I hear all the time, from friends who are trying to be inspirational motivators or influencers as they are called today. Half the people I know today from Facebook to Instagram to YouTube are all using the same inspirational phrases on me...there are even websites that provide me with all the same phrases and graphics if I would like to spread the same inspirations! We are expected to achieve exceptional achievements in our fields whether it’s business, music, science, arts, sports and even real estate. We are suppose to admire these people for having found their

passion, we may even be envious of their luck that their professions combine their natural abilities with things they actually enjoy doing. Fortunately, we all have the opportunity to find this state of being and the intersection of our natural abilities and passion by reflecting on our past. Discovering these areas, uncovering our possible untapped talents and building on them going forward will help us thrive in the future and contribute to us leading a happier and fulfilling life.

Our past is filled with stories and hints about what we are good at, what we genuinely love, and how we thrived when we did. Be curious about what you might find on your journey reflecting on your past experiences, tapping into and exploring things that intrigued you back then and digging into the memories of the experiences you truly enjoyed and felt energized by. Remember, the past is what brought you here.

Little House Got Big Appraisal!

The owners of this charming brick end-unit built in 1971 decided it was time to sell and move on. The home was taken care of but was filled with life of family and home business. Also just a couple years ago had refinanced and the appraisal was a low $120,000. With

overall great condition and nice location the sellers needed to get the value appeal up...even in this low inventory market? The sellers listened and painted, took up carpets, new ceiling lights and fans, lots of decluttering and tweaked the staging to get the home sold for $200,000 the first day!

Working from home.

Some days, it can be hard to find the motivation to get to workespecially when your office also happens to be your bedroom, kitchen, dining room, or living room, too (or all if you live in a studio!). But we promise it’ll be a lot easier to roll up your sleeves and get to work if your home office looks stylish, feels energizing, and promotes productivity with organizational solutions. The best of them inspire focus in addition to looking good. Think: ample sunlight, uncluttered surfaces, rejuvenating colors, and actually-comfortable furniture to work on. Whether you’ve got an entire room or just a tiny corner, we’ve got inspiration for you with these simple home offices.

Use bold colors, walls, chairs, rugs, etc.

Tight on space, try under the stairway.

Another tight on space idea, great use of a closet.

Love the chaulk board paint idea, and comes in colors.

You found the space now to personalize it. As realtors, I wanted to reflect our brand and our business. Using homes we sold as a background for our name, printed each letter at Staples and put into an inexpensive black frame. A vase with a house, again reflecting what we do, only put pinwheels rather than flowers in the vase providing a year round whimsy to the home office. And if you have a door to your home office, why not hang a sign with your name or logo and inspirational quote to greet you everyday!

However, if you need a bigger home office. . . We can help you find one! What would make the perfect home office for you? Give me a call: 302-740-0043 or email me: jay@teamwebsterhomes.com

Team Webster helped our family buy a home and move back to Delaware after living in Northern NJ for 15 years. Bill and Jay were extremely professional, super responsive and worked with us according to our schedule coming from out of state. They kept us on track, made things simple and helped us through the process from start to finish. Highly recommend!

When Is The Best Time Of Year To Buy A House?

The best time of year to purchase a home isn’t always when prices are the cheapest. The market and your needs play a significant role. After all, it’s just as possible to find your dream home in July as it is in February. Are you reading books during the pandemic? “Interview with the vampire” I read 35 years ago and fell in love with vampires...they are real! Or I wanted them to be. The best parts for me were definitely the time spent in New Orleans, how Louis talks about how he bacame a vampire by Lestat and life from mortal to immortal. I also loved Paris but was sad for Claudia. Anyone else read this book? Hope I love it again.

Buying a home in the dead of winter may score you a discount, but the inventory is usually limited and the move may be more difficult. During the spring, inventory is plentiful, but there’s more competition among buyers. Does the season actually matter for home buying? You might need to get into a new home before your kids go back to school. Or maybe a move to be closer to a loved as soon as possible matters most. However, you can find houses during all seasons. Each season brings with it both positive and negative factors when shopping for a home, including inventory, competition and prices. Team Webster is here to help you whenever is best for your situation!

THE PET

Dog walks during coronavirus.

Walk dogs on a leash, maintaining at least 6 feet from other people and animals. Do not let pets interact with people or other animals outside the household. Wash hands with soap and water after each walk. What about dog parks: If you normally take your dog to a crowded dog park or dog run, the CDC is recommending that you avoid these kinds of locations until

more is learned. So for now avoid dog parks or public places where a large number of people and dogs gather. Do not let pets interact with people or other animals outside your household. Remember, your dog depends on you to stay safe, healthy, and happy. Don’t fall victim to myths and rumors about dogs and coronavirus. If you’re concerned or scared, call your veterinarian so they can help guide you and reassure you.

THE HUMANE SOCIETY of the United States.

The big fights: Improving the lives of farm animals, Going fur-free, Stopping puppy mills, Ending cosmetics animal testing, and Banning trophy hunting. How can we help? Whether by volunteering our time, money, car or even our birthday, there are so many ways to help fight for all these animals, now more than ever. Visit: humanesociety.org to learn more and donate.

How long can a pet stay outside in the winter months.

When you are getting uncomfortable outside, it is fair to say the pet is also uncomfortable and it is time to go inside. Short walks and play periods can be suitable, but once your pet is getting cold, it’s time to head indoors and enjoy some warmer fun (and treats). I can be trained to smell cancer in humans.

I can be trained to crap in a box.
