But what actually drives us?
The answer can be summarized in a single word: CREATIVITY.
We are a colorful bunch of extraordinary and strong personalities who come together every day in an old condensed milk factory in Hamburg-Eppendorf. There we think about how we can bring new, wonderful products onto the market. Of course, it would be much easier for us to buy ready-made products from Asia. But instead, we always decide to go our own creative way. Just like a donkey.
For us, the work starts when we have a good idea. Then it continues: product design, factory search, material and color selection, prototypes, name development, packaging design, certification, quality assurance and shipping - all this happens before we can even take the first photo or start designing the catalog. At the same time, we plan trade fair appearances and think about how best to present our products at the POS or in the online store.
Yes, we could make it easier for ourselves. But we love this process - and we love our products. Every single one of them, because each one has been developed by us with passion. That's why we get up every morning and come to the office: to put our heart and soul into creating something special. We hope you enjoy our new catalog for 2025. JOHANNA SCHWARZER
Johanna Schwarzer is an illustrator and artist from Frankfurt. She is known for her unique typeface and lines. Together with her, we have developed a collection that is made for cold days. With the large mug, an anti-scent candle, the glass spray bottle and the cozy woolen blanket, the cold, grey days become relaxed Cozy Home Days. All products feature a statement in the typical Johanna Schwarzer font.
The woollen blanket thus becomes the “Comfort Zone” and the candle bears the inscription “smells like nothing”. The “Big Hug Mug” is so big that you can “hug” it with two hands and with the “Karma Spray” you are doing something good for your plants and ultimately also for yourself.

DONKEY teamed up with artist Bona_Berlin to realize a very special art project with “OUTER SPACE”. Over 30 hand-painted astronaut figures show that art does not have to be painted on canvas and that designer productions with minor flaws can become unique and collector's items. The urban art collectables were on display and for sale in the URBANSHIT GALLERY, in the pop-up exhibition “OUTER SPACE”.

Donkey and the Munich-based risography studio Herr & Frau Rio have teamed up to pool their creative power and release unique art prints together.
Sascha Wellm and Laura Sirch, the design duo behind Herr & Frau Rio, have created a total of five thematically unique collections: Space, Food, Animals, Happiness and Maneki Neko. From original illustrations to abstract designs, each motif is a true work of art.
In a team of four, they print, design and tinker to get the best out of every order. Herr & Frau Rio are passionate artists for all projects related to printing, design and production. They work in a very similar way to Donkey - from the initial idea to the finished product. A perfect match!
