WINNING ATTITUDE SVG FACILITIES AND MAINTENANCE
We sat down with Facilities and Maintenance team to get to know more about the people behind SVL’s physical infrastructure and to learn more about the activities, challenges, and learning that took place with their recent project – the Supreme Ventures Flagship Store.
Tell us about the Facilities and Maintenance Department The Facilities and Maintenance Department falls under the Human Resources and Administration function. The team is responsible for the repair and overall maintenance of all company locations at maximum operational standards. A major priority for the team is ensuring that all facilities meet minimum Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requirements. Fleet management, which involves the purchasing and maintenance of all company-owned vehicles, is also a key part of the Facilities and Maintenance department's core functions. The team also provides logistics support and assists with transporting team members, equipment, and other items across the island. Additional areas of responsibility for the team include project management and estate management for buildouts and renovations and any other needs as they arise. How has the overall process of opening The Supreme Ventures Flagship Store location been? It was a very intense and grueling process and of course, required MANY late nights and LONG days. Each team member had their areas of responsibilities related to the project and completion on time and the satisfaction of the internal client required constant visits, sourcing materials, and working closely with the many contractors and service providers. The team, however, enjoys the rewarding feeling of seeing the plan come to life.
