Teacher Appreciation
Week May 6-10, 2024
Help us to show our appreciation for all that our teachers do for our children. Thank you for all your encouragement to our staff throughout the past year and especially during this special week!
Thursday - Throw back, Thursday! Give a WORD of encouragement to your child's current or past teacher(s) letting them know how much you appreciate everything they have done for your child.
Friday - RELAX! Our teachers deserve it! Bring your teacher something to help them rest and relax once they go home! Fuzzy slippers, a book, a special coffee mug, or a gift certificate for some extra pampering are some possible ideas that your teacher would appreciate.
PTL- Parent/Teacher League (PTL) officers - The following have stepped up to lead our PTL in the new school year. If you would like one of those positions or a vacancy, please let the office now ASAP. We are planning a meeting for Tuesday - May 14 at 3:30 in our school library. chaperone our field trip to the Gathering Place! The 2nd graders had a blast with Grandpa Dave and Grandma Shirley on our field trip to their house, and they acted like very mature guests. I am so proud of them and you should be, too! Last spelling and memory tests are this week! PARTY! Next Thursday, May 16, is going to be our end of the year party here at school! BOOK EXCHANGE! Buy a new chapter book and wrap it for our book exchange on May 16! Aim for a book your child would like that is around a 3rd grade level. Check it to make sure the content is appropriate please :)

FOURTH GRADE – Mrs. Sibley: Thanks, you SO much thinking of me during teacher appreciation week! I am so blessed to be your child’s teacher this year. It has truly been an honor to serve your families, and students as they learn about their Lord and Savior. Thank you to our drivers who drove to Tulsa today so that we may celebrate making their AR goals and end of the school year at the Gathering Place. The end of the year is right around the corner; please help the kids to be the best they can be to finish the year up strong as we are definitely 5th graders in training! Some are taking to this challenge very well. Make sure we are not going to summer break too early. I am always here for a conversation for student success. Blessing as we focus on Christ and the blessings He has given to us.
FIFTH GRADE – Mrs. Harbeson:- - We made it! This year seems to have flown by and now your 5th grader will soon be in middle school. It's a time of great excitement! I want to thank all of you for allowing me to be your child's teacher this year. I really missed being in the classroom, and I'm so grateful that I got to come back this year. Each one of my students has been a blessing to me, and I look forward to watching them grow in spirit and maturity. Thank you also for all the gifts that you gave me during this Teacher Appreciation Week. You've made me feel very special and loved. I pray that you all have a wonderful summer, and I will see you all next year!

LANGUAGE – Ms. Kester: After tomorrow, all tests and assignments are done! As you can imagine, end-of-the-year chatter is on the lips of every ELA student as classes "gear up" for next week's movie days where I showcase the films that correspond to their last class novels. Other than that, eighth graders will engage with some final literary terms, seventh graders will do a final sweep of this year's overarching grammar concepts, and sixth graders will wrap things up with some adjective games. BUT BEFORE THAT, seventh graders are headed to OKC with me and another fab five for some fieldtrip fun, and sixth graders will celebrate the end of the year with a homeroom party. Also, the graduation servers and committee are gonna' make the graduation
dinner area look like the bomb.com. OK, so I'm exaggerating, but it's gonna' look gooooooood. Those involved with the committee and fieldtrip will receive information via e-mail tomorrow.
