988 Saves Lives - Anyone can now call or text 988 to reach the national suicide prevention lifeline. The hope is that the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline becomes synonymous with mental health care, just as 911 is with public safety. (Texas Co-op Power magazine, February 2023, p. 5)

CONGRATULATIONS - Oklahoma House Bill 1935 passed last week so your tuition payments to our school should count as tax credit for 2023. If I understand it correctly, since OK has 5% max tax rate and you earn $100,000+ then $5000 in OK income tax translates to $5000 tax credit fully. And for the median family income of about $60K that would give $3000 tax back which still AMAZING!

Time to re-enroll your child. We will begin accepting new applicantsMarch 1st. So, get your spot reserved ASAP.

Room Parents - Room Parents - Class projects for next weeks auction are due ASAP. THANK YOU!

SHOUT OUT to Dr. Kelly & Chris Campbell for sponsoring our comedian Dave May here at 2:15 on Friday March 31.

Palm Sunday is April 2 and the middle school choir is singing so mark your calendars and worship with us. We would love all the children to help carry Palm Branches during the first song.

Chess Club is now available to 2-5 graders in the middle school on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:15-4. We will have it divided up between those who are brand new to chess and those who have an idea of what they're doing. If you have any questions, please let me know! Mr. Brey

The SCHATTE MEMORIAL COOKOFF: May 7th we will be hosting our 4th annual Schatte Memorial Cookoff! If you’re interested in signing up as a vendor or Cookoff team, contact Jennifer Heitman at flcsnextgen@gmail.com . (Flyer attached to chatter)

LANGUAGE – Ms. Kester: It's comma time! Middle schoolers have begun their foundational, gradelevel lessons that will thrust them into the beautiful world of punctuation. As marks such as commas require prior knowledge of adjectives and conjunctions, we will review those parts of speech as well. This will be the final set of our heavy lifting as we look forward to next month's ITBS testing. Also, remind your child to read the class book daily. It is due May 1. As for Religion this week, students are wrapping up the Gospel of Luke and will receive their first memory work of this final quarter. Here's to staying true and enjoying God's view!

SOCIAL STUDIES – Mr. Brey: 5th: We are just doing a review on IXLs this week to make sure we haven't forgotten too much information. Next week we are going to start learning about things the students want to learn about as we are done with state standards.

6th: Students will once again learn about Rome. We will hopefully get to the transition from the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire this week.

7th: First of all, these students did great on the finals. For the rest of the quarter, students are going over the state standards they missed in the past. They will have a textbook for the rest of the school year. Please make sure they are bringing it home as many of the assignments will be on readings assigned to them.

8th: Now that we have finished state standards I gave the students the option to either have a laid-back quarter or a quarter where we learn what they teach in high school and 100% of students who responded picked the high school option so here we are. Students will explore the Gilded Age and Progressive Era this week before we work our way into WWI.
