2.1 Procurement

The procurement function involves the setting of specifications, the selection of suppliers, defining the expected quantity of products used and negotiating prices with suppliers. In general, the procurement function can be separated into three areas: (i) Procurement of raw materials, machinery and equipment (ii) Procurement of parts and components (iii) Procurement of finished goods of service/accessory parts Out of these three areas, TMAP-EM is involved in sourcing for parts and components under (ii), and service parts under (iii) from related party and/or third party suppliers. These products are purchased by related parties for further manufacturing and/or sale to manufacturers and/or distribution in their respective local markets. TMAP-EM consolidates the parts and components orders from APCs and places them to suppliers in order to enhance the Group’s bargaining power. In sourcing for the parts and components, however, TMAP-EM relies on the drawings and specifications which have been approved by TMC. For parts and components to be exported to APCs, TMAP-EM will source for suppliers and negotiate the price. TMAP-EM would then sell the parts and components and/or service parts to TMAP-MS, who is responsible for consolidating the orders, for further sale to the related party manufacturers and/or distributors.

Shipping and logistics function refer to the delivery of products to customers. It also involves the actual delivery of products, arrangement for delivery, selecting the logistics partner of product, and setting the delivery deadlines. In APCs, logistics function deals with the inbound and outbound logistics using the system mainly developed by TMC, which is briefly described in the explanation below: Inbound Logistics

TMAP-EM imports components and parts (both production and service parts) from related parties. Generally, the seller arranges and bears all costs and risks related with the logistics activities from its warehouse until the goods are placed on ship. After the goods are on ship, TMAP-EM arranges and bears all costs and risks until the goods arrived at TMAP-EM’s warehouse. Outbound Logistics

For export sales, TMAP-EM generally arranges and bears all costs and risks related with logistic activities from its warehouse until the goods are placed on ship. After the goods are on ship, customer arranges and bears all costs and risks until the goods arrive at destination country. Whydo we need

to put sticker on mobile phone’s camera?

Greeting to all members, my name is Captain and today I would like to explain the reason that someone might wonder about “why do we have to put sticker on mobile phone’s camera before accessing company high secure area?” First of all, I believed that some of you may have seen the leakage photos of new vehicle model posting to internet website or social media (such as LINE, Facebook) before its official launch date.

(A sample of spy shot photos that were shared to internet before its official launch) As I mentioned in previous magazine about negative impacts that may happen to our company in case of confidential leakage, therefore, this is the reason why company is promoting and communicating to all members, for letting them know and realizing the important of confidentiality management. Moreover, nowadays, most of our smartphones have camera, the photo can be snapped and shared via internet network easily. In case some employee who is not understand well, and sharing confidential photo/ information to website or any sources via internet, it is not possible to retrieve or revert it back because communication channel through internet is spreading very quickly.

Since our company, TMAP-EM has established under the purpose of vehicle research & development, in every steps of new model development is handled by all TMAP-EM members. It is quite obvious that many kinds of information that we handle daily are confidential information and very important for Toyota company. Currently, company working areas are classified based on security level, the high secure areas are Technical Center and 2nd floor of head office building (Working area of Technical Center, Production Engineering and Purchasing group). In order to reduce the risk of confidential leakage and to raise employee’s awareness of confidentiality management, company has set security regulation. For outsider, carrying mobile phone or electronic devices with camera function into high secure area is prohibited. However for employees they are allowed to carry-in those devices but need to put the sticker on camera lens.

See you again in next magazine “Mr. Captain”

As I mentioned, you may understand the reasons why company is promoting “How to handle confidential information properly” to avoid negative impact as much as we can. I also would like to ask for your collaboration to everyone who access high secure area, please follow the rule by attaching sticker to the mobile phone's camera. If you have any inquiry or to inform leakage incident, please contact E-mail: security@tmap-em.toyota-asia.com Tel: 0-2790-6699

Candle Festival Parade

Candle Festival Parade is a Buddhist tradition which always starts before Buddhist Lent (Khao Pansa). Candle Festival Parade is a tradition in preparation for the rainy season because monk will keep the Buddhist precepts in a temple without going overnight anywhere for 3 months. At the Buddha’s lifetime, there was no electricity only candle that use at the night time. For this festival, our TPCAP members joint Ladkwang District Villager and school parade with 2 big candles (Thian Phansa) which are of monk (Sang Kha Than) to Phiphit Prasat Sunthon Temple and Hua-Nern Temple.

Tree Planting On 13 June 2015, our TPCAP has planted 55 “Lueang-Pree-Dee-Ya-Thorn” trees along the way in Soi Ladkwang, our TPCAP & community transportation way. This “tree planting” activity has been conducted for two consecutive years. We always support the environment activity as the concept “Sustainable Growth” and also expect to stop global warming because plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen to atmosphere and when young trees grow up and be strong, we will paint luminous color on trunk area of tree for the safety sign and guidance for the local people and TPCAP members.
