A bouncing baby girl is first baby for 2017 LITTLE Joavanna Flemming has received the honour of being the first baby to be born in the Turks and Caicos Islands for 2017. Tipping the scales at a healthy and bouncing 7lbs 10ounces, Joavanna was welcomed into the world by her parents Solanllis and Jovan Flemming at the Cockburn Town Medical Centre in Grand Turk on January 3, 11am. The birth of the excited newborn, who was due on January

7, was met with just as much excitement from her elated father. According to Maternity Nurses, the baby’s father was elated to welcome his first child into the world and did not want to leave the newborn’s side. As is customary, the parents were presented with a gift basket stuffed with infant-care items such as diapers, clothes, bibs, baby wipes, and more, courtesy of TCI Hospital.
