Welcomed exposure and experience for U14 boys team – Opines coach Ritchie TCI’s U14 team benefitted tremendously from their four-game series a part of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Boys U14 Challenge Series, which was held last week in the Dominican Republic, according to coach of the side Dane Ritchie. “It was an extremely welcomed exposure and experience for the TCI U14 Boys team. Competition was well organised and run, the players got a feel of what it is to compete at

this level with players from across the region within their own age group.” TCI lost three of the four games. The other was a 1-1 draw with the host nation. They opened with an 8-0 defeat to St. Lucia, before drawing with DR. Against St. Martin our boys loss 2-0 while in the final game it was a 9-0 defeat at the hands of Puerto Rico. According to Ritchie, “Getting

such a result against the DR also goes a long way in showing the players that with hard work and team effort they can get results. This also will serve as a measuring stick to see where we need to improve to be more competitive at this level. “The tournament was a development tournament and I do believe that our players benefitted greatly from it. They will be better players coming out of this competition and will no doubt be looking forward to competing in more tournaments like this in the future.”
