Office/Company: The Delia Group, Keller Williams How long have you been working in your current position? One year How long have you been working in the real estate industry? Six years

What did you do before you began working in your current position? I was formerly a director of operations for another real estate team. My background is in the military, the Marine Corps and the Army.

What does your typical workday look like? Business/lead generation and technology — I manage everything from lead flow, lead conversion into clients and the systems that enable that smooth transition. I manage Facebook, lead flow, and CRM reports and talk with our sales team almost every day. I also work closely with our director of operations on future events, marketing materials, etc., and support all of the new agent onboarding.

How would you describe your job in one word? Progressing.

Why do you think you excel at your job? Some people do a thing because they are good at it. Some people do a thing because they enjoy it or enjoy working on it. I do this thing because I must. I feel a drive to make a lasting impact on a business, on how business is done, and on how information and clients flow through our business…and, more importantly, on how our agents flow through the lives of our clients.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? I am valued. I am empowered. I can affect change on a large scale. My family time is protected. I want to log into work every day.

What is the most challenging aspect of your job? People and person-to-person interactions are always a great opportunity to grow. In agent-to-client and agent-to-admin interactions, as long as we all pull in the same direction, it runs forward, if not always smoothly. My challenge in regard to this is that I am physically located in Grand Rapids while the rest of our hub is in the Rochester/Detroit area.

What is one thing about you that others might find surprising or interesting? I can ride a unicycle with above-average skill.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun? Competitive shooting — I was fortunate to compete with the Army shooting team at regionals and national-level events, and I am the winner of the 2019 Michigan Governor’s 20 TAG Match.

How do you feel about being nominated as a Behind-the-Scenes All-Star? Great! I normally do things from the shadows… like Batman. There have been some great agents, brokers and staff featured in Real Producers, and I am grateful to be added to the collection.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself, about your job or about your relationship with the person who nominated you? Working with Joe and Renee has been the highlight of my professional career. I didn’t think I would find this level of trust and empowerment outside of the military. Additionally, I work remotely, which is uncommon in my field, but, on day one, I embraced the risks associated with this situation. I am grateful to work with Joe and Renee and the rest of the Delia Group. I look forward to “work” almost every day because it doesn’t really feel like work.

Joe Delia, owner of The Delia Group at Keller Williams Paint Creek, says that Chris is committed to and immersed in the business. “Chris understands how everything connects and the dominos that fall when we move a new process in or remove a process,” Joe said. “He lifts up everyone within KW, not just The Delia Group.”

Joe describes Chris as a person who goes above and beyond: At any time, Chris is quick to jump in and fix warranted situations and fill in the gaps when needed. Joe also appreciates that Chris understands where The Delia Team is headed and how well he aligns with their mission.

“Chris could work anywhere, yet he’s chosen to hitch his wagon to us because he and we know that as we continue to develop our platform together, we’ll have a competitive advantage that is unmatched,” Joe said. “I couldn’t be more appreciative of his commitment to the mission, and I’m excited to get our 503c launched with him.”
