Gospel Music with Bobby Parker

This year the Pandemic lead to Award shows being cancelled or rescheduled and the emergence of Virtual Shows. My last Award Show was the 2019 Spin Awards in Atlanta, where I won Announcer of the Year and later worked the Red Carpet at the GMA Dove Awards.

The BET Awards were one of the first to go virtual, setting the bar high. More shows joined in and elevated their Productions. The CMA Academy of Country Music Awards was amazing, and the most recent Emmy Awards were excellent.

I was also blessed to be a part of a Virtual Red Carpet event with two-time Stellar Award Nominee Kim Person in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was exciting as we watched the Stellar Awards in her home, surrounded by relatives who supported her throughout the years.

I believe that taking things virtual will allow viewers to focus on the Show and let the producers focus on the real meaning with performances and handing out the trophies, instead of the glitz, glam and drama of the whole event. It’s the new normal, but I look forward to going back to the Award Shows in person. Hope to see you in 2021.
