How To Apply The Power of the Biblical Prayer Watches

This year, the question on everyone’s mind is why is all this stuff happening? The focus is mostly on COVID-19. My answer is because we have not been good watchmen and watchwomen of the world. God gave us dominion as caretakers of the planet earth.

And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26 KJV.

God gave us the right to care for everything in His stead. Just as men stood on city walls in the Bible to watch for approaching danger, God called us then and now to be watchmen and women to protect the earth and all within from all forms of danger.

It is often said, “It’s not what we know about the Bible that hinders us, but it’s what we don’t know.” The power of prayer watches when used to its fullest potential can alleviate many woes happening within the body of Christ. In James 5:16 KJV, we are told to pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

When we implement prayer watches in our homes, churches, and communities continuously, we are able to discern signs of impending danger. In my study and use of the Prayer Watches, I have experienced many miracles, foreseen many dangers, and grew spiritually in more ways than I could ever imagine. It is my personal desire to see more people apply this heavenly secret to their personal relationship with the Holy Trinity and life experiences.

"Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street." Lamentations 2:19 KJV.

Prayer watches are precise times of the day and night in which we should intercede on behalf of all the components of this earthly kingdom God created for us to love and protect. The eight watches offer us a way to cover our 24-hour day as spiritual security guards standing on the wall. Each prayer watch includes specific prayer goals and purposes. Some prayer watches can be completed alone for personal spiritual growth, but I feel we should do most as a group. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20 KJV.

Have you ever wondered why you wake up at certain times of the night and feel the need to pray, praise and/or worship? It’s because we all have an internal watch. It’s that internal watch which makes you feel a need to pray at a specific time of the day or evening without understanding the reason. “The Watch of the Lord” or “Watching in Prayer.” It is God’s desire that all things could be on earth as it is in Heaven and prayer is our best tool to make it so.
