HOTEL SCHOOL FOR TCI By Allie Capron

he long-awaited and much needed hotel and hospitality trade school is about to become a reality in the Turks and Caicos Islands. After three years of careful deliberation between the country’s educational and economic authorities, the Turks and Caicos International University School of Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration (TCIU) is on track to open its doors in September 2018. Ritz Carlton needs 500 to 700 people, The W needs 300 to 400 people, Rock House needs 100 to 200 people; all of the various villas will

Preferably, they’ll come from right at home. In order to make that possible, we need to train a lot more of our people to be ready for it. We must train our own people to lead. Our people have the abilities; they just need the training and the exposure.” Advani is one of four partners at the head of TCIU. The others include Hon.
